Chicken was dry and very bland… Only seen my waiter when my order was taking. Could not get a refill to save my soul… There better places to eat than here

I have frequented Rio Grande in Berea, KY for many years now, and it has cemented itself as the go-to Mexican restaurant in town for a multiple of reasons.

After long hikes on the Sheltowee Trace, we are always on search for Mexican restaurants. We stopped in Berea to try El Rio Grande. The salsa was great (as was the tomatillo green salsa). The guacamole was excellent too! My wife, as a vegan, ordered the veggie fajitas, which were wonderfully tasty! I got the Burrito California which had sliced steak grilled with onions and peppers and tomatoes… it was sooo good. With the friendly staff, this place was a 5 star!

Queso thin, chips not warm, I ordered chorizo quesidilla, and it was delicious but would have been better if meat was drained.

My favorite place in town. The margaritas are great and the Tacos Carne Asada is phenomenal (pro tip: get cheese and guacamole as an appetizer and add it to the tacos). They recently added a new menu item, “El Molcajete,” that’s is the most impressive dish I have seen anywhere in a long time.

I at here a while back for the first time and it wasn’t that great. I was thinking maybe it’s a bad day. I decided to give them another try.. this time is was awful me or my kids did not enjoy it. The rice was WAY over cooked very mushy. I’m surprised they served that. The ketchup looked bad. The service was okay. That will be my last time I go.

Not great, but will work in a pinch. They cant make a bean burrito to save their lives. They put this white cheese sauce on everything and its gross. Unfortunately, Mexican food here in Kentucky is NOT GOOD. Not sure where they learned to cook.
