Ordered two cheese quesadillas, a shrimp cocktail, and the fried shrimp and oyster combo. Came with maybe 7 fries which were incredibly soggy and cold. The batter that the food was fried in was flavorless. The shrimp and oysters were overcooked and were not fresh at all. Bit down on an oyster and bit into a massive pearl. Had to Google it to see if that was even possible. The quesadillas were greasy and the cheese was almost inedible. Total cost for this wonderful experience was 52 dollars. Dine in might have been better, but it was pretty much dead inside on a Wednesday evening. Will update if I end up getting food poisoning. Would not recommend to anyone.

Food was hot and very tasty. The restaurant was busy with lots of smiling faces, employees and diners. El Rey still has the best Tex-Mex in Dripping Springs.

Went on Thursday, June 1st and everything was excellent. A mariachi band did a fantabulous job to set the atmosphere, and who doesn’t love a good mariachi band? Am I right? Lol. I don’t remember our server’s name but he had a rainbow head band on and he did an absolutely fantastic job. Mine nor my wife’s beverages were ever empty and he was pretty personable. All in all a 5 star visit for sure.

We were just there with a large group. Just got told they had a “gas leak” and only 1 side of restaurant had to leave while the rest of the patrons got to stay and enjoy their food. Pretty sure they just lied to half the customer or just don’t care about the safety of the customers that got to stay

Don’t waste your time or money. Food is NOT good. Meat is almost all fat. Service, terrible. Never checked on us, forgot our drinks, had to get his attention to even get the bill. Definitely will not be back.

I asked for just bacon and eggs they didn’t ask what kind of eggs i wanted ( i wanted scrambled) so they gave me sunny side up. They also but beans and potatoes on my plate which i did not want or order.
