We enjoyed the rotisserie chicken, plantains, and fried rice. It was simply delicious! The sauces were amazing! This is definitely a place to try. Authentic Peruvian experience. We didn’t try the desserts yet but we will be back.

El Pollon delivers an authentic and homemade Peruvian experience unmatched in the Pittsburgh area. The food tastes fresh, service is excellent, and the layout is open and modern. Highly recommend trying this place out, as it’s the best restaurant in Carnegie.

We love Peruvian food and were looking for a new place to try. This place has great atmosphere, relaxed dining, great customer service by Romeo who was patient with us and explained everything. Overall the food here is awesome, the rotisserie chicken is cooked over charcoal and has a nice flavor and is very moist. We had the yucca fries and also fried rice and beans. We also had the tres leches and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was on point and our party of four loved everything. We definitely will be back and this place is in our top 5 places in Pittsburgh to go too.

We are so happy to see something occupy this space although the atmosphere is pretty much the same as the previous occupants – it’s totally okay. Our service was excellent. We were a bit disappointed in the food though. And I hate to say this and be critical because we want these family owned businesses to thrive… but our meals were pretty bland. I ordered the pollo saltado with eggs as suggested by our server as their signature dish – it was a large colorful dish, but the chicken looks (and tastes) like frozen chicken strips and there wasn’t a lot of it. As I said the sides were tasty and plentiful, but I expected rotisserie chicken pulled from a whole chicken. My hubby got the pork chops and they also were dry and tasteless. I think next time we will order the whole chicken as we noticed from the tables of neighboring patrons looked amazing. An extra side of plantains were delightful. Dessert was also very good – it was the homemade cookie (I can’t recall what she called it) and we were happy to end of the meal on a good note. Again, I want to be honest and not too critical, we will try here again and hope it’s better next time.

I love food, especially Latin Food. Pittsburgh has come such a long way in terms of Latin Options. I was psyched when I heard we had a Peruvian Restaurant that was serving authentic Peruvian. I had to try it. It did not disappoint and made my whole day. Wow!

Loved seeing this go in. Excellent addition to the area. The service was top notch. Always helpful and ready. We never felt like we waited. I don’t know how long it’s been open but it was empty on a Sunday night at 6p so we could get extra attention probably.

Absolutely amazing. Smelled so good as soon as we walked in and I knew this place was going to be fantastic. Rotisserie chicken was incredible, great flavor and super moist. For sides I went with black beans and Peruvian fried rice – both were out of this world. Both sauces were great but the green sauce was unreal. Good service, affordable prices, and a cool location. LOVED this place and will be back. So lucky to have it in Carnegie!

So happy to have a Peruvian place in Carnegie! Delish food, good service, clean, fun to see the open kitchen, loved hearing the latin music. This south Florida transient approves. We loved it!
