Food was fantastic. We’ve driven by many times, the strip mall where it’s located doesn’t shout come in, but we are so glad we did. It’s the first Mexican restaurant in our area that you didn’t need a heavy poured margarita to tolerate the mediocre food. Everything was made in-house, fresh, and delicious. The street tacos, enchiladas, quesadilla, chimichanga, even the chips and salsa. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. If I was gonna critique anything, they didn’t have all the beers from the menu available and it did take a while to get our food. Not a complaint as it was worth the wait, I would just make sure to order an appetizer and not be expecting fast food. Definitely be going back.

Great spot to grab a quick bite or with some friends. Their small plates and tapas are delicious and they have a great variety of choices. The are a hidden gem in Brookfield. Worth taking the trip and tasting their menu. Good drinks as well!

I would give even more stars! We absolutely love this place. They offer authentic, delicious Mexican food. I can’t get enough of their sopa pollo and their tacos are amazing! The guacamole is freshly made and every dish we have had does not disappoint. The service is phenomenal. We always receive top notch service. The desserts and drinks are also absolutely divine!

With the recommendation of a few friends I decided to check out El Mexicano a few months ago. I’ve been to a lot of Mexican restaurants in the area and I have to say none have impressed me as much as this place soup to nuts. Jose, The owner, is a jolly friendly guy that always welcomes with a warm smile. All of his staff are also very positive and accommodating, something that is lacking in the service industry these days.

Now on to the food! I’ve become a regular, go there at least once a week. So I’ve tried almost everything on the menu. Everything is exceptional. Always served hot and fresh and the flavors are phenomenal. Best Mexican restaurant around!

My favorite dish is the Mexicano chef special, I get the shrimp and it had amazing flavor combination of white wine and garlic sauteed with peppers onions and tomatoes(see pic). On a side note, importantly to me they de-tail(I hate when there’s tails on shrimps when I go out to eat personally).

One of my other favors is the El Mexicano. Great combination of different flavors and textures. (see pic).

Lastly while you’re waiting for your entrees enjoy the homemade salsa. One of the best around!

PS: Jose makes a absolutely banging margarita!

When you walk in, you feel right at home. Touches of traditional Mexican decor with a modernized twist. Jose the owner greeted us with a big smile, a warm heart and beautiful hospitality. We started off with drinks like margaritas. They were delicious! We had guacamole and tortilla chips to start along with a delicious cheese dip.
For entrees we had a variety of tacos and a
Ropa vieja. Tacos are a traditional size served on corn tortillas or preferred flour as an option. For dessert we had banana cheesecake turnover and a chocolate lava cake. The Best ever!! A few tequila shots. Over all a wonderful dinning experience with the best of savory and sweet. You will leave with your belly’s full, a content heart, and a smile. Thank you for a wonderful experience and wishing continued much success and endless customers to visit and enjoy a good meal.

So amazingly good!
We lived in California for 20 years, and never found better Mexican food than we found right here in Brookfield!

The street tacos… AMAZING (pork belly my fave)

The sloppy nachos… INSANE

The churros for desert… PURE JOY!

Thanks to the El Mexicano family for welcoming us into your beautiful space ❤️❤️❤️

I visited this place because of its rating I’ll start with the
Atmosphere: There was no hostess so I headed toward the bar and I was greeted warmly. I let them know where I wanted to sit, and someone headed right over and cleaned the table. No fancy update qr code ordering option- which I tend to enjoy.
Food: i ordered the shrimp quesadilla. It came with a side of quac but not the expected pico de gallo and sour cream. Their homemade salsa lacks texture its very canned tomato sauce. The pomegranate martini was on point. For dessert I had churros with chocolate syrup whip cream and vanilla ice cream, yum.
Service: I felt attended to and welcomed. only reasons they arent getting 5 stars:
No hostess
Not modern

Aye t̾e̾r̾p̾y̾fam so ya guy pulled up to EMT&C for some eats…was it what I expected?

Overall: yeah, ur basic local mexican spot. Pretty lively inside with a good mix of people
Traditional staples found in every spot you pull up to.

The food is good, its not bad or bland but its nothing out of this world either. My issue with everything was the salt level.

It was so extreme I could barely eat half of my entree.

Theres tough competition locally for similar style fare so I don’t know if I’ll come back around again. We’ll see

They do have a friendly low key bar which looks inviting after a long day tho.
