We came on a Sunday afternoon while we were passing through town, it wasn’t very busy. The salsa and queso were somehow extremely bland with virtually no flavor. Unlike the salsa I’ve had at any other El Meson. I’m assuming because of the demographic of Shelbyville that the food is very bland and mild to accommodate tastes, which is unfortunate.
Ordered esquites and it came with no chili powder, it also was not very good.

Was greeted soon as I walked in by someone that seemed genuinely happy. Was seated and taken care of immediately. Chips seemed more fresh cause sometimes you can get some that are on the stale side, but today the were good. Salsa and cheese was great. I love the cheese! I had the enchiladas rancheras and everything about it was great. The beef was cooked well and the rice and beans tatsed great. Portions are always generous. The experience was great overall today and I definitely recommend trying it out!

I only had a cocktail and chips, yet it was a pleasant experience. The chips were warm, the salsa was spicy still leaving the delicious tomato flavor. As for the cocktail, well I’m no amateur at enjoying a margarita, but the large was too much to finish. However, the booths were small and thin I could feel every move my neighbor made, and our table had a tendency to slip and slide with the lightest touch. (Not safe after that large of a margarita) All in all good time for a good price.

It was OK. They gave me a not even half a bowl of salsa for myself and 3 kiddos lol. Food was decent. The blue margarita was nothing special. But service was good.

Ate here today. The food was absolutely delicious. Everyone was polite, helpful. It being Mother’s Day, I was surprised with a free fried Ice cream..soooo good. Awesome place to eat. We dined outside.
