We were passing through town and stopped by for dinner. We ordered 2 Tamales, Kids Quesadilla, 2 Carne Asada Tacos Plate, 3 A La Carte Tacos. The food was good and the service was good. It’s a quiet place in a small quiet town.

I had a great experience at El Marques Mexican Restaurant in Tonopah. The food was not only delicious but also very reasonably priced. Their menu offers a wide variety of choices, and we went for the chimichanga with beef, which was packed with flavor and plenty of beef. We also tried the chicken enchiladas, which were equally tasty. The bonus was the complimentary chips and salsa, a pleasant surprise. The service was speedy, allowing us to continue our journey to Vegas without delay. El Marques was the perfect dinner stop on our way.

Had dinner our first night in Tonopah and then decided on this restaurant. Like many of the restaurants in Tonopah, they are quite dated, but the food and service are what counts the most. The staff was very responsive to our needs and a special “shout-out” to Weeze, our server. She made the dinner memorable. The menu consists of the standard variety of Mexican food dishes you might find in any similar type of restaurant. The food was good, and the serving size was reasonable, but having to pay for fountain soda refills was a little strange. The restaurant was clean and appears to be maintained in an acceptable manner. FYI, we did like the chips and salsa they provided prior to our main entrée.

Came in with a party of 13 without notice. They were able to seat us quickly, although there was no A/C in the section, an exterior door was opened that made the room comfortable. The food and service were decent, nothing exceptional. Had the steak y papas, steak cooked to order med rare. There were no complaints in our party on anything ordered. Tonopah does not have a lot of dining options, this is one of the better ones overall in my opinion. Would definitely return upon a future visit to town.

Waited 10 minutes before someone came from the back to seat us. It appeared like the waitress was the only one working. She took our order went to the kitchen and 5 minutes later brought our food. Nothing was cooked from scratch at this restaurant. Canned chicken for the enchiladas and sauce from a can. Save your money.

I ordered a quesadilla cost $17 and when I got to eat it, there’s only a little bit of meat in the middle of it and the rest of it was cheese and it didn’t taste very good

We ordered take-out here and it was honestly one of the worst meals we’ve had in a long time. The salsa tasted fermented, the beans were sour and rancid, and the guacamole was grey. Even though we were the only customers, it still took 25 minutes to get our to-go order. Because it was take-out, we couldn’t even ask for our money back once we realized how bad it was. On top of that, the prices were higher than any Mexican restaurant we’ve ever been to, which made the whole experience even more disappointing. Definitely not worth it.

Driving through Tonopah on Friday, 8/15, on my way to Arizona, I decided to try this restaurant. The atmosphere is nice enough–subdued lighting, more typical for having dinner. It was the lunch hour and I hoped it wouldn’t take too long, because I wanted to be back on the road. I ordered a combo plate with a Chile relleno, a shredded beef taco, rice and beans. The dish was delicious–nice and hot, with the right amount of cheese, sauce, and spice. They also provided chips and salsa which was also very good. The price was reasonable, the service was efficient and friendly, and I was in and out within 30 minutes. For a small town restaurant, this exceeded my expectations. Credit where credit is due! I’ll return to this restaurant the next time I drive through Tonopah.
