I recently visited El Mariachi and had a great experience! The food was tasty and hit all the right notes for authentic Tex-Mex flavor. I was really impressed by how good and fast the service was; the staff kept things moving perfectly without making us feel rushed.
One detail I particularly appreciated was the use of real tablecloths, which gave the dining room a nice, polished feel compared to more casual spots. It’s a wonderful place for a delicious, sit-down meal that still feels efficient and welcoming. ✨

This place has stood the test of time as restaurants go. I hadn’t been there in years until yesterday. Very pleasant staff and service. We all got fajitas that promptly came to our table sizzling. Delicious.

We had high hopes when we picked this restaurant. The dining room is very nice and cozy. Menu seemed very nice. I ordered a seafood stew and the seafood was not fresh. The scallops tasted terrible. I eventually got sick this morning from that. I would beware of what you order here. Maybe their other dishes are excellent but the dish that was served to me was terrible and expensive!

So the food here is really good! I had a chicken chimichanga and the queso dip, and both were great! Now…the reason for 3 stars: the service here is lacking. I sat at the bar, and I felt as if I was bothering the bartender by trying to order something. Once I got my appetizer, I didn’t see him again until it was time to pay the check, at which point he decided to become “chatty” I’m assuming to try and get a larger tip. Because of the tv at the bar, plenty of waiters seemed to hover near me to watch it (which was off-putting while trying to enjoy my food), but no one ever asked if I needed anything. Additionally, El Mariachi doesn’t have a happy hour, drink specials, not even beer specials and their margaritas are quite expensive (see pic below). I would say this is a great place to grab something “to go”, but I wouldn’t recommend dinning in!

Met here for lunch. The decor doesn’t quite fit the food. It’s not objectionable… Just off.
The service is absolutely fantastic. Never had to wonder where our server was, or look at an empty glass. Friendly and personable.
The chips and salsa were fresh. Wish they had a “spicy salsa” as an option.
My enchiladas were the best I have had in a while. Would definitely recommend.
The fried ice cream caped off the meal perfectly.
Hadn’t been here for over 10 years… Just because of distance. But will definitely make the drive more often.

El Mariachi is my all time favorite restaurant. I’ve been going there with my family for years. I’ve celebrated my last 4 birthday’s there, as well as both my high school and college graduations. I always order the same meal (Carne Asada de la Mexicana). I love the quick, friendly service and the food is always amazing. For my 21st birthday the staff made me a special margarita that looked like baby yoda! I don’t know another restaurant that would do something like that for a customer.
I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and I’ve eaten there twice since, the staff are so accommodating and understanding about my condition and the food still tastes just as amazing.

This has become out to-go place for Mexican. I recommend El Mariachi.
I like that it feels more intimate than the more comerialized Mexican restaurants. The service is always friendly and excellent.
Be careful with the margaritas – boy, do they have kick! The food has always been excellent. I really like the carne asada.
This is definitely a hidden gem in Rockville. I suggest checking it out.

Got chicken steak fajitas combo and chicken tacos al carbon. Everything was flavorful with that carbon taste without the burnt aspect. The fresh, thiiiiiin tortilla chips and fresh salsa were too good; asked for more without extra charge! The ambiance was cute with intermittent white picket fencing lining the dining area, white tablecloth and napkins, silverware etc. My only regret is not going sooner, having lived nearby my whole life!
