I always see the place off 290 and wanted to try it! My beef enchiladas were delicious and my mom got the Caldo res , there was ton of fat so more fat than meat so my mom’s food was meh , the atmosphere was great I really liked the aesthetic. Our service was great no complaints. Also the chips and salsa were meh. Nothing extravagant just average Tex mex restaurant

Stopped in for lunch and had a great meal. Had the chicken Enchiladas and they were very good. Ordered them with the red sauce which was very flavorful. Great stop if your in the area.

If you could do 1/2 starts this would have been 3.5 starts from me. I was here for lunch mid week. Location is in an old shopping center. Clean and comfortable inside. I ordered the combo chicken and steak fajitas. While waiting they provide you with chips and red and green salsa. Salsa’s were both good but not great. Fajitas came out in about 10 minutes and were cracking hot. You get all the normal fixings like quac, sour cream, pico etc. The tortillas seemed fresh and were very good but they were street taco size small. Would have like a bigger tortilla. The steak was cooked well and tasty. The chicken wasn’t pretty bland and tough. I would stick to steak for fajitas. A big pile of onions is also with the meats but very little peppers. Rice and beans are served as well. They were both above average with the beans being really good.Service was pretty standard. Overall, it was a slightly above average lunch. I personally wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here again.

Brought my team here for a meeting lunch and everything was delicious!
The drinks are watered down though so be aware of the margaritas during happy hour.
Staff is accommodating but ya gonna stay on them. Once they know what you want they take care of ya!
Atmosphere and design are very good for the location.
Prices are reasonable.
Salsa both green and red are outstanding!
Give em a try!

Don’t got to First Watch, don’t go to IHOP, Don’t go Chuy’s, and definitely don’t go to Papacitos! Rita’s Mexican Cafe is cheaper and better than all those options! We also met Rita herself and she took care of us well! When you going to see Papacito walking around?!?

Delightful Mexican Cantina in Houston, Texas. Rita’s does an admirable job serving excellent Mexican fair. Webster County, Texas has over 2300 Mexican restaurants. That’s 17% of all the Mexican restaurants in Texas. Rita’s stands out in that 2300.
Immediately, you’ll know you’re at the right place with the warm (temp) roasted tomato salsa, and the tomatillo salsa.
For this visit we ordered the tortilla soup with shredded chicken. Piping hot and served with a side of rice.
The soup is loaded with tortillas, jalapeños, fresh avocado, shredded chicken, and a light topping of Mexican cheese.
Ashley provided the perfect amount of service and a cheerful and lovely smile every time she visited the table.
Highly recommended

I got the chicken Fajitas. It was great, but I wish there were more variety of grilled vegetables. My plate had 98% onions. Maybe that’s the way they like it. And $4 for a fountain drink is a bit high.

We were staying overnight in this area and we wanted breakfast before heading home. We looked at the reviews, and Rita’s got great reviews, so we checked it out. The first thing we noticed was the atmosphere. It was extremely clean and bright and updated. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. When he found out it was our first time at the restaurant, he brought us out some complementary queso, which was delicious. It was made with white cheddar, avocado, pico, and ground beef.
We had breakfast. I had the migas, and my boyfriend had the La Mexicana. They were both delicious and all the ingredients tasted very fresh. When in the area, we will definitely return.
