Service was exceptional (that’s why the stars) choosing this Mexican restaurant as our last one in West Plains, MO we were hoping for a different taste. I guess when you’re used to certain ways food is made, a different way may not always be good. Rice was mushy and no flavor, I guess smothered doesn’t mean with Chile, cheese, lettuce and tomato. I kinda thought that was universal everywhere when asking for smothered. Oh well live and learn. I’m sure another West Plains favorite!

I don’t even know what to say… we took it home for the dogs. The meat in the burrito was so soaked in greese/oil and burnt unedible. And the chimichanga ..I have never had what looks like canned cubed beef stew meat in one ever that meat was flavorless, the tortilla shell that it was wrapped in was still doughy. But the tortilla chips and salsa were good, but don’t pay extra for cheese dip it was as runny as water. Overall the restaurant was clean but that’s not enough to make me want to ever go back.

We love this El Charros the best. Of the two in town this is the friendlier and better family atmosphere. Don’t believe me, try them both and you’ll see why this is our El Charro ☺

Four stars for the staff and their service. Super nice and attentive. I had the enchilada superma. Food was average good compared to what I’m used to in California or Texas even, so that means miles above other Mexican restaurants in the area. Seasoning was all very mild, but more present than other places. Also I don’t know what it is about making the pinto beans into watery baby food. This isn’t the only restaurant to do that in the area so I guess it’s a thing for the locals?? Still I’ll will be eating here again, so it wasn’t all that bad.

Amazing Latin Food & we know Latin food. Jesus is also one of the best servers we’ve had in years. If we lived closer we would definitely come back. Thank you Jesus and others for a wonderful evening.

Only gave it one star because it’s not possible to give it zero! The food was horrible, not even edible, the service was awful. Even the people at the table next to us got up and walked out with full plates. This is the one on porter. The one by walmart was fine when we went there. When the food came the waiters literally dropped the plates on the table, when we complained about the food they just smiled and walked off. I would never go here if I was you!!! McDonalds dollar menu would be a better choice!

My husband asked for no spice, he said it still had a bit of a kick, Giant burrito ranchero. I had chicken chimi and it was excellent! It came with beans, rice, lettuce, sourcream, guac and fresh pico! Great price for lots of food.

Went to El Charro’s with my 3 y/o grandson while my son was having a medical procedure done. The whole staff was super nice and attentive. Our food was was delicious!! I look for El Charro restaurants wherever we go in this area, all are so good!
