I went on a Wednesday afternoon ALONE and they were watching the football (⚽️) game and left me standing waiting to be seated for a short time, when I was acknowledged I was seated and my chips and salsa were brought immediately. It took some time to have my order took yet I let them know that the chips that came with the salsa could be used as I was having the Crab Queso, it was tasty! I added some HOT STUFF. If you want engaging people this isn’t your place the music isn’t for a person who doesn’t understand Spanish. I would come back and it would be in the early afternoon again yet with someone so I can have a conversation.

The food is fantastic and the staff is wonderful. The prices are reasonable and the amount of food is well worth it. Over all an amazing dinning experience I highly recommend eating here.

Since we’ve moved to Philadelphia, THIS place has been the only restaurant that we even consider when we’re talking about Mexican food! The aroma of good food greets you once you enter. I prefer takeout because the portions are so excellent that I had a hard time driving back home after we ate in.

This is the best El Azteca out of all the chain restaurants. It’s in an old pizza hut in the Mayfair section of NE Philly. It’s always packed with Spanish people so you know it’s good. I’ve only dined-in one or twice and the service is great. I actually do takeout at least every other week. Our fave is fish tacos. Best I’ve ever had! They give you four and they’re not skimpy on the fish! They’re Guacamole is simple and fresh but some might find it bland. We’ve also had their queso and yummy chicken soup. We like this order so much that we order the same thing every time. I hear they have good birria tacos now too. You won’t be disappointed in anything you order. Trust!

This place is LEGIT. Everything on the menu is delicious. Get the choriqueso dip for the chips. The birria tacos are amazing. The Mexican fries and nachos are a few favorite appetizers. Everything is fresh and delicious. Margaritas are also amazing. They also have cream cheese poppers which I love and are hard to find. Sometimes the service is a bit slow but the staff are super nice and friendly. This spot is a go to for me and my family.

Went there for the first time, place looks like it’s closed (old Pizza Hut building) place looks nice in the inside, service is good, food is super blend. Purchased some Birria cheese and they bake the tortilla in aluminum foil not good taste, hubby had chicken fajitas (nothing can go wrong with that) wrong that was the key word. More tomatoes and onions and hardly any meat. Rice and beans were cold.

So … This was a confusing one to write. The place is super nice, they put effort into the decor, looks like an upscale cantina and the staff is sweet and efficient. The food threw me off. It’s decent. I didn’t go hungry but I wasn’t blown away. Pricing is reasonable and the portions are really huge. However, the dilemma is if one isn’t blown away, they pbly won’t go back for the leftovers. I will give it another try thou for something different. The chips looked homemade and were great, salsa needed a bit more substance, 2 watery. Rice and beans were good. Like I said, I’ll def go back and try the tacos next time

This place was great! The service was phenomenal and the food was excellent as well. The salsa had so much flavor, the chips were nice and crispy, and I’m NOT a fan of refried beans but these ones just hit the spot. The best part was probably the chicken in the burrito but the way this place does chicken is the same way you could probably expect from any truly authentic Mexican restaurant.

Totally surprised this restaurant is now opened.
Used to be a Pizza Hut that was outdated and very dark lighting inside. Very very old bench and tables.
I walked in to check it out and I was blown away the new owner has transformed the place.
All dining furniture from tables with high dividers and benches were imported from Mexico . Interior design and wall decor reflects true Latino dining experience.
Food portions are reasonable for the price. Flavor is on point with savory tinkle. Yes, they have Horchata..
They also offer Chips and salsa for free.
Maria our serve was exceptional.
We will definitely ask our staff to step outside of our office and support this great business.
