I was in Enterprise recently visiting a dear friend. As dinnertime approached, I was invited to join my friend at Effie’s. I had never been there before, but loving Mexican cuisine like I do, I was excited to try it & wasn’t disappointed at all! The food was excellent..no “cons” at all! I loved the atmosphere on a Friday night and the service was “off the map” excellent! The pricing was very fair and competitive. Also, the menu was large and inviting.
So if you like (or love) Mexican food, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Effie’s!!! You will not be sorry!

Fantastic spot in Enterprise. I recently stopped by and sat at the bar. Delaney and Ben and the owner, Chad, really have the whole hospitality approach down. Fun, welcoming vibes inside the restaurant and chatted with us at the bar offering suggestions on some of their menu and drink items. And tried for the first time ever, Steak Fingers. Fried and battered steak strips with chipotle ranch dressing. Let’s just say these were GONE in a matter of minutes. Their margaritas were light and refreshing but had a huge variety of drink options to choose from. They now offer online ordering for take out so definitely recommend for your next dinner whether in person or to go!

I joined a group of colleagues for lunch and was severely let down. To start, the service was extremely slow and many of us didnt get what we ordered or our complete orders. While I waited, I noticed people around us were also having similar issues. One group near us had to get their meals to-go due to the wait. Our group, as well as other tables, waited almost an hour for food and we were not offered drink refills or extra chips during the delay. Due to the extreme delay, most of our group and other diners around us just accepted what they received and left instead of complaining and having to wait even longer.
When I received my order, the Chilli Relleno dinner, I found that the plate was hot but the food itself was cool. The rice had a flavor that suggested it had been exposed to some type of surface cleaner. The refried beans were dry and inedible. The Rellenos themselves were comprised of chunks of some small thick walled pepper and nothing like any plabanos Ive ever tasted at other establishments. The beef filling tasted like it was old and had been reheated after being refrigerated and not properly sealed. For the price of the meal, I definitely expected the chilli rellenos to also be bigger and fresher.
I have eaten and reviewed mexican style restaurants all across the county and this is definitely on the bottom of my list. I dont expect that I will be making a return visit. Enterprise, Alabama definitely has much better mexican style food options and I strongly suggest selecting one other than this.

This place has the most unbelievable food, service & atmosphere I have ever experienced in this town. I have compared their cheese enchiladas to a number of restaurant acrossed the globe, and have yet to find any that have come even remotely close to the ones served at Effie’s! Thank you for giving me something else to look forward to every time I come back home.

Overall it was a pleasant experience. The service was friendly and attentive. I got the chicken burrito and it was ok. The atmosphere was cozy and dimly lit. I will come back, but I will have to try something different next time.

I know this is a Mexican style restaurant, but they have the BEST grilled chicken sandwich I’ve had ANYWHERE. Highly recommend. Make sure you order it with the seasoned potato wedges!

I recently went to Effies for an early dinner and Valentine’s day gift. The seating was fast and the waitress was very considerate and helpful. The food was delicious and served very quickly. The entrance and exit is easy to navigate with ample parking. The restaurant is themed with Mexico items.

Great food fair price. Best Mexican food I had since I left California. Love this place we drive from Crestview to Enterprise just to go there. Wait staff are friendly make you feel like you’re having lunch with family. I can’t say enough good about this place.
