The sushi is so artistically made and absolutely delicious. The owners are incredibly friendly, they make everything about dining there such an amazing experience. Best sushi I’ve ever had in Virginia. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

A party of 17 people; that can be quite a test of a restaurant. Edo’s passed with flying colors. The surfer was very friendly. The food was well cooked and very tasty. The environment was great. We tried a variety of food and it was all excellent. I highly recommend this place. It was a great visit all around and everyone in the family enjoyed themselves.

This is a lovely family-owned restaurant that I go to every time I visit my Mom in the area. Super friendly service and tasty, consistent food. I particularly like the veggie tempura, the gyoza, and of course the sushi! There are also full dinners available with soup and salad, such as General Tso’s.

Really wonderful experience while on vacation. We loved it so much, we came back a second time. The hot and sour soup was maybe the most tasty I’ve ever had. I really enjoyed the Tofu Teppanyaki and the soy bean hush puppies were a special treat.

The service was great, and we tried the soybean hush puppies, sashimi deluxe, and crazy rock and roll. Overall, the food was tasty. However, I did notice that the crazy rock and roll had a bit too much rice and not enough eel. The same goes for the sashimi plate; there wasn’t as much eel and fish as I expected.

The staff was friendly when we were waited on. However, the food was very mediocre at best. The miso soup was a weird cloudy color and lacked flavor. It tasted like it was made on another day as well. The salad had pieces of frozen lettuce making the salad soggy and unappetizing in texture. We ordered sushi as well. One roll was excessively salty and the other was fried but had cooked unevenly. There were parts of the sushi roll that tasted mushy. My husband and I both got a dinner with chicken and either steak or shrimp. The meat was cut up into uneven pieces that unfortunately did not cook evenly due to the size of the pieces. My husband was not asked how he liked his steak cooked and it came out over done and chewy. My shrimp was rubbery indicating that it was also over cooked. The vegetables were also under seasoned. At the end of our meal, we waited forever for our check. She also did not show us the check but rather took the card first before we saw what we were charged for. We will not be back. The prices did not match the quality of food we ordered.

Today was my first visit. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the hostess/server’s name, but she was very kind and friendly. Maybe an owner? She was talking with a woman in the booth behind me about how they’ve known each other for 30+ years. Definitely felt like a local, community-driven restaurant. The food was plentiful and really good. I got the chicken teppanyaki lunch special and a cucumber roll. It was a lot of food! It was hard to stop eating once I was full because it was so good! I highly recommend this restaurant for the food and even more for the service!

We had a great time here and the staff paid special attention to our gluten free needs. The atmosphere was friendly and pleasant. They were accommodating to our large group (a family member called ahead I believe). The food was delicious and came to our table in a timely manner. Highly recommend!

Let me preface by saying I’m originally from a military town with plenty of Japanese restaurants and amazing sushi and enjoy Japanese food 8-10 times a month. My family and I were on vacation and decided to give this place a try since my 9 year old wanted sushi for her birthday. The atmosphere and the staff were really nice and I was really hoping the food would match up. But if I’m honest the food tasted microwaved & old rather than fresh. The sushi was sliced way too thin and mediocre at best. The pickled ginger was more like crumbled pieces rather than sliced. Shrimp was way overcooked (probably from being cooked and then reheated via microwave). With such great service and atmosphere the food was bland and very disappointing. Even my 1 year old who normally inhales Japanese rice refused to eat the minute rice version they sold. The Steak and shrimp entree was more like a thinly sliced flank, not sirloin like most other Japanese restaurants I’ve visited. The dumplings that were used to make the gyoza were way too thick and some sides were burnt. The food was terrible we didn’t finish anything except the edamame. The rest went in the trash. After spending nearly $100 bucks on dinner for my family, what a waste! When we returned home we ordered from our normal spot and my husband says it even smells better than the food from Edo Grill. We felt bad for the people that lived in the town because great Japanese restaurants were few and far between. If you rarely eat Japanese then you may enjoy it but as for me and my family we will not be eating there again.
