Wonderful local gem, located in Old Town Lafayette. This locally owned mom and pop restaurant features local ice cream, homemade breads and baked goods, made-to-order (with the option to build your own) sandwiches, soups, and salads. Home of the unique banana bread ice cream sandwich.
Parking is tight, be prepared to walk. I promise it is worth it. Clean restrooms with baby changing station. Indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff, willing and able to answer questions. We met the owner–nice guy.
I enjoyed a delicious veggie and cheese custom made sandwich both times I visited. The first time I had the bread of the day, and the second time I enjoyed the wheat baguette. Take it to go, eat in–no matter which you choose, you’re sure to have a tasty and filling meal.

I loved getting to make my own sandwich (picky eater, still working on it) but one of the menu options is almost exactly what I would order. Also it’s such a friendly place and the people are so sweet that they could probably throw a sandwich at my face and I would apologize for whatever I had done.

Placed order for pick up. Ordered the Boulderite but when I got there I added a slice of their cheesecake. Pretty good sandwich. A bit pricey but tasted good. Wonder if they bake their own sandwich bread. The cheesecake was really good. When you order online, you can’t schedule the pick up. You better plan to be there in half hour for the pick up.

A nice little find in the heart of Old Town Lafayette for desserts, pastries, ice cream and other sweets. Seemed very family friendly. Went here on a Saturday evening around 600pm and the place was pretty much empty; service was pretty prompt. The store has several flavors of vegan ice cream, which is not something I’ve seen at other stores. Ample tables and seats Prices are reasonable. No dedicated parking, so you’d have to find some street parking.

So I also purchased an M& M cookie. It’s the perfect blend of soft and crunchy! Move over Cookie Crumble! These are awesome! This place bakes with LOVE!
My only wish…more yummy crunchy goodness in the Sleepless in Seattle ice cream! Definitely a return visit in my future!

eats & sweets,
is a beloved ice cream shop of lafayette.
They are known for their amazing eats and sweets i know its literally in the name. From fresh soups, freshest sandwhiches, and fresh homemade ice creams, and baked goods.
We stop every chance we get, wether the kids won a pass at school, or gained trip tracker bucks, just to unwind after or even before dinner.
Everyone walks away happy.
They have anamazing and tasty Gluten Free options.
We arent GF but we enjoy the treats still!
The shop has its own character but everything inside is truly made with love, and your loved ones in mind!

“Under new management” usually doesn’t move the needle for me much, but in this case I know that the new owner is a longtime industry professional who cares deeply about the end product the restaurant is putting out. I’ve always liked eats and sweets and it’s a local institution, but I’ve also had minor areas of dissatisfaction. On my most recent visit, I tried a new roast beef sandwich with caramelized onions that was super solid. Everything from the bread to the veggies was super fresh and flavorful, and I’m excited to try the other new menu items. The almost 100-year-old building is in the process of a face-lift, and the offerings inside are similarly being incrementally improved. Worth a visit if you’re in Old Town Lafayette!
