If you care about good crust, flavor, etc don’t eat this. Home slice is so much better. The crust has zero flavor. I couldn’t taste the sauce. The sausage was like that cheap foam like stuff. Idk how this has good reviews. Austin has good taste in pizza (I think?) but this place must subsist on the most foolish residents. Oh and I spent friggin $33 dollars before tax on this large. I think home slice is like $27 for a like pie!!

By far the best pizza in Austin, and not a trend-setting pizza place. It’s a real pizza restaurant making their ingredients from scratch before it was a trend.

I had over 5 different pizzas here and all of them 10 for 10. East Side Pies do sell pizza by the slice, most trendy pizza places don’t. Which mades “ESP” more accessible for customers.

Also “ESP” is a local business and it’s always good to eat local.

On Thursday, February 12, I placed a pickup order at 6:38 PM for 7:03 PM. I arrived at 7:05 PM and was informed the pizza had not been made or placed in the oven. While mistakes happen, I waited an additional 20+ minutes before receiving my order at approximately 7:25 PM.

When I asked about a discount or accommodation due to the delay, I was asked if I was an Uber driver. That assumption was inappropriate and unprofessional. I have been a paying customer for 4–5 years and live five minutes away. I am not a third-party driver—I am the customer.

The only resolution offered was a 12 oz Diet Coke, delivered with an attitude suggesting I should be grateful. The lack of accountability and poor customer service were more disappointing than the delay itself.

I witnessed staff being accommodating to another individual while I, a long-standing paying customer whose order was significantly late, was treated dismissively.

A 20+ minute delay without meaningful acknowledgment or professionalism is unacceptable. I expect better from an establishment I’ve supported for years.

Please address this behavior and ensure your staff understands the importance of respectful customer service.

East Side Pies is one of those Austin gems that reminds you pizza can be both creative and seriously satisfying. The atmosphere is quirky and laid-back, a perfect match for the East Side neighborhood vibe. The menu is full of inventive combinations, but the spinach pizza stole the show for me. It’s loaded with fresh, vibrant spinach that tastes like it was picked that morning, layered over a tangy tomato sauce and just the right amount of gooey cheese. The balance is spot on—fresh greens meet indulgent, cheesy goodness without either overpowering the other.

The crust is thin and perfectly crisp around the edges while still having that nice chewy bite in the middle. Every slice feels light but still filling, which is a rare and welcome feat for pizza.

Service here is friendly and unpretentious, and my order came out hot and fresh without a long wait. The prices are fair considering the quality of the ingredients, and you can tell there’s real care in how everything is prepared.

The only thing holding this back from a perfect five stars is the limited seating. On busy nights, it can be a challenge to snag a table, but that’s also part of its charm—it’s the kind of pizza you’d happily take to-go and enjoy at a nearby park.

East Side Pies is proof that great pizza doesn’t have to be complicated—just fresh, flavorful, and made with love.

Pizza was very tasty. Crust was perfectly thin and crispy. Had Jamaican Pizza with jerk chicken and jalapeños, which I could have done with less. No inside seating but does have picnic tables. 18 bucks for a 10 in.. so be ready for that.

My mom Christy Ruiz from Soul Sister’s Traveling Plants in Liberty hill recommended that I try out this little hidden gem. We are a pizza family and my mom has the best picker when it comes to local connesuier appreciation.

J.W. was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He had some great recommendations for topping combinations ! I decided to go with artichokes, ham, and capers

I’m a HUGE FAN of the fresh ingredients, oooey gooey melts stringy cheese and the thin crust. Perfect topping to bread to sauce to cheese ratio….don’t act like you don’t know there’s a science to it….you know EXACTLY what I’m referring to! Amazing customer service! Incredible flavors!

I also love that they sell by the slice for people who are experiencing Austin’s finest on a budget

Side note….only place in america that doesn’t accept cash

Stop by this place and ordered a slice of pizza. I was given a burnt pizza so I went back to let the girl at the window know. She goes on to tell me that all the pizza are burnt like that with an attitude. I put the pizza on the counter inside the window and ask for my money back because I am not paying for the pizza. She throws the pizza back out the window and tells me to throw it away for health reasons and that I cannot get a refund. The whole time she had a bad nasty attitude which in return I gave her that same attitude back. She then said she would give me another slice and threw a pizza in the oven and then ask another clown that works there if he could do a refund. He comes to the counter and tries to give me a refund and I check my account and the payment was still pending. I let him know that the money was not refunded and he says he can put another slice in the oven because there is a no refund policy. I ask him for the managers name and phone number and he puts the number on a receipt and scribbles the managers name on the paper. I passed words when him as well. Now the thing that is so funny about the whole ordeal is that while I was standing there waiting for my pizza I notice that the Permit to Operate a Food Enterprise was expired.
You have an unprofessional female working the register and cutting up pizzas without washing her hand after handling the front window with a nasty attitude that pretty much was saying to me “you take that burnt pizza because you aren’t getting your money back and a expired permit! I’ve been to this place many times and never had a problem and the workers have always been professional. This could have got ugly because people are tired of being disrespected! If you don’t like your job or the color of my skin you might wanna find you something else to do! I did receive the refund after speaking with my bank also. Austin has been ruined by people like this and I’m sick of it like everyone else is!
This happened at the Location on Rosewood also.
