House-brewed beer & ale plus burgers & comfort grub sound the alarm in a historic former firehouse.

I usually go to the other E9 location, first time at this one. It’s a lot different than the one at 25th and Fawcett.
Fawcett location has a lot of outdoor seating with heaters in winter. 6th ave location has a nice large bar area and a large restaurant area.
Unfortunately, the bar area is like dungeon dark. But it is pretty nice otherwise. Came in by myself so I just ate at the bar. Ordered the CBR salad and an E9 Tacoma Brew. Both were really good.

It’s been a while since I’ve been at this E-9 location and some friends told me their food game has stepped up. Sure enough, the fried chicken sandwich was a good size portion and was delicious.
Service was a little slow, but maybe better next time. Thanks again!

They were bustling, and we gad great service enjoying this authentic old fire station. The food was great- wife had the Caesar wrap with tots, I had the chopped asian salad, for dessert we shared the pumpkin bread pudding which came with vanilla icing. Weird food critique- if a restaurant cannot nail getting a tater tot perfect, then why expect anything else will be better? Tots were in point like acupuncture. Wife also had a fancy schmancy drink that was so good she had two.

Super cute restaurant in an old fire house. The staff was super nice and attentive, the sandwiches all look incredible. I had their version of a burger French dip which I don’t normally like, but theirs is really good. The patty wasn’t too thick, and it was a perfect crispness for the dip. And the Dutch crunch roll is amazing!

Came here for happy hour. Prices are a small discount from regular prices. The drinks were tasty. The nachos were good but the chicken was so dry. Having the bartender also being the server does not make for a very good service experience. She was very busy and it was hard to get their attention. I love the atmosphere. I have been coming here for 40 years. I will be back.

If stopping in Tacoma or just looking for a cool spot to eat & drink…E9 is great you should 100% check it out. It’s just about 5-10 minutes off of I5. Food was awesome & the drinks are cold.

The place is comfortable, has a patio and terrace, and I loved it for summer days. The waitresses were friendly, and the food came out quickly. The bathrooms are clean, which is important to me. The house burger is delicious. Overall, the food is good. I would return.

The food was fantastic. The cheese curds with hot honey were a great change from plain curds, and wile delicious there wasn’t much heat. My son loved his reuben, and I really enjoyed the fish and chips – big cuts that seemed to be cut and battered in-house. My daughter enjoyed her pizza, and isn’t usually a fan of thicker pizza, so that says a lot!

I took my sister and my niece to this restaurant and I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with the whole experience! I ordered the fish tacos and they were the bomb! You literally got so much food you couldn’t eat it all. We took a lot of it home for later on. This restaurant was established in 1907 and still has the original brick inside and most of what the firefighters used back then is on display for everyone to see. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch! I’ll be going back again!

Occupying a real Tacoma firehouse that was built in 1907 with horse drawn fire engines, this restaurant and bar has been a staple of the neighborhood since 1973. The place is rustic and made of brick with indoor and outdoor seating. Just a block down from busy 6th avenue, when you’re here, you feel secluded. The staff is super friendly, and the drinks are unique to the establishment. They make all of their sauces in-house and the kitchen cooks up some tasty vitals to pair with your beverages. This is just an overall great place to have a meal and relax either with the kids or without. The only con about E9 is the parking situation. The lot is small, and spaces are cramped but you can find on the street parking. You may just have to walk a bit. Thanks for reading and Cheers!
