I placed an order and paid, the day before for 2 50c munchkins for my son’s school Christmas party. I ordered a full 24 hours in advance (because 24hrs is the most time you’re able to order in advance on the app), so the employees could anticipate a large order first thing Friday morning. It’s my understanding that this location does not make their donuts, at least that’s what I was told when they first opened. I was told the Hixson location makes the donuts and delivers them to the Soddy location each morning. (I saw multiple reviews about donuts being old and stale, that’s probably because they aren’t throwing out the old donuts from the day/days before). I assumed they would see a pick up order the day before for 100 munchkins and ensure they had enough for my order as well as any other orders and regular drive thru/app customers. I apparently should not have assumed that. I dropped my son off at school and headed to Dunkin to pick up my order and return to his school for the party. When I arrived at the Dunkin the line was long so I decided to go inside rather than do the drive thru. I arrived 20 minutes after my pick up time as the app said it may take longer than usual to prepare given the size. Once I get the attention of an employee, give her my name, she then informs me that they were unable to fill my order, because they didn’t have that many munchkins. Okay…that would be fine had I just walked in and ordered 100 munchkins with no notice, but that wasn’t the case. I know my phone number and email are listed on Dunkin app, I’m unsure if the employees are able to see that information when an order is placed, but if they can…it would have been nice to be notified so I could make other accommodations. I also think that if this location can’t accommodate larger orders, there should be some sort of limit on the app for this location or at the very least put up a damn sign. I then had to drive all the way to hixson, I placed the order in the Soddy parking lot and by the time I got to hixson my order was, unsurprisingly, ready. I then check my bank account and see that I was in fact charged for the Soddy order. I don’t understand why, when the order couldn’t be completed, they didn’t cancel it on their end so my money could be refunded. I call and ask what I need to do in order to get my money back. I’m told I need to call Dunkin’s customer service, as if this wasn’t already extremely aggravating and super inconvenient. I have called their customer service number 3 times, and been on hold for no less than 20 min each time. So basically, i won’t be returning to the Soddy location. It’s been a tradition that my kids and I get a donut after doctors appointments, we’ve always gone to the Hixson location or lickin’ good donuts in Soddy (their donuts are way better). When Soddy opened a location we were super excited. When they first opened It was great, but it’s obvious given their recent reviews that this location went down hill fast. If the people that manage this place want to keep its doors open, they really should consider making some changes.
No cash payment. No cashier at all actually.
The “lobby” is one single small room with two kiosks, a cart for napkins/straws/sugar, and a door to the bathroom. That’s it. You pick up your order from a window with shelves on it where orders are placed from the kitchen area. If you don’t watch your order get placed on the pick up racks, you won’t even know it’s ready because no one ever calls a name. Receipts are taped to the bag.
Heard the girls in the back laughing and chatting, but no one said a word to me at all.
Great place to work for introverts I guess lol
