Field & Fire Café features breakfast and lunch focusing on local, organic ingredients, making simple dishes with big flavor…. from scratch. We’ll be bringing hand-made breads, pastries, breakfasts, lunches, and coffee drinks to the North Monroe district of downtown Grand Rapids. Our goal is to make the best breakfast and lunch in Grand Rapids. We make naturally leavened, whole grain products to help ensure they are as healthy as possible. Our mission is to sell real, wholesome, and flavorful food and pastries. We are guided by a desire to participate in the health of our customers and this leads us to support sustainable farming and slow food practices.

I like the bread in this cafe. But unfortunately, the bostok I often eat has changed. It seemed to cut costs by using bread on the bottom. Crossan, which my wife likes, also tastes different. Has the main chef changed? The atmosphere is cozy and clean, I like it.

We came for lunch although I got a breakfast dish, vegan nutcase skillet, and my friends got sandwiches. We all loved the food. It was resh and delicious, and looked great. One of my friends and I decided to try the pastries too, and weren’t disappointed. My Runeberg torte was delicious, dense and moist. My friend loved the chocolate cake as well.

I love the food here. It is always fresh and delicious. The staff is always great. I appreciate that they have elaborate vegetarian options, but find it frustrating that simpler meals, like the breakfast sandwiches all have meat and do not have a vegetarian price difference for removing what is likely the most expensive ingredient.

The coffee here is the best, I tried in more than 6 coffee shops in GRR, i felt this place has the best coffee. Great pancakes & toast. Ambience is also good. Service was quick.Friendly staff. This place is just by the Grand river walkway. Pleasant area to have a walk & stop by this place in the morning for a good start to the day.
