As devoted social influencers in the freegan community, we were simply delighted by this quaint dining experience. Their rotating menu and buffet-style offerings were exactly what this family ordered. The decor also felt inspired and the vomit stain near the bottom of the artisanal brick work was reminiscent of Basquiat at his best. We couldn’t quite finish it all, but luckily take-home cartons (slightly used) were close by. My son gave the double boiled chicken skin two thumbs up! Don’t pass by this unassuming, family-friendly, and pet-friendly culinary delight that provides an unpretentious urban vibe. City life meets home cooking, “Momma, I’m coming home!”

We had heard stories, seen the photos, read the reviews and dreamed of making it… high expectations coming in, all exceeded. Mind blown. Taste buds delighted. Tummies full. Noses tantalized. Shoes… wet.

Xquizit dining experience. I’ll never forget my first bite of the Sand Encrusted Barrel-Fired Asparagus So good, we had to personally thank the chef and even snag a pic!

Limited selection of food. Id guess due to our timing. Maybe try a little later in the evening. It was cool in the restaurant today and I suspect that kept the sweet aroma of fresh dumpster findings to a minimum. Didn’t know what to expect to find on our motorcycle trip from Southern Minnesota to Marquette, but this place is the highlight. Would recommend.

Although the service was terrible, the atmosphere was quite cozy- reminiscent of grandma’s house but without all the cats to keep the mouses away.

It was perfection. We ordered to go, low and slow via UPS ground. The food was perfect and had a unique earthiness. Not like truffles, but more like black mold and the furry kind of stuff we find in our dogs yard. Delivery only took a week – we live near Seattle.

We had the sticky rice balls with fly larvae and seepage sauce. The fly larvae were locally-sourced and wiggly. With the active fermentation in the seepage sauce, my wife said the rice balls smelled just like my balls. It’s a fun place. The people watching on Washington Street never disappoints.

Not at all what I expected… no dumpster, barely any water. When I got there, I just saw a guy with a handlebar mustache and slicked back hair riding a unicycle. Next time, at least have the decency to spray a hose.

The surprise tasting menu keeps you guessing while the unparalleled compost-to-table specials perform a threnody for the senses.
