Absolutely awesome!!! I ate Jerk Chicken Panini. Out of the world. After a long time I had such a good quality panini. Perfectly crispy outside with melted gouda cheese, chicken, and pineapple. Seasoning was so balanced and slightly spicy because of the black paper I guess. But for the whole package I would give this 11 out of 10!! A side of potato fries comes with it. I chose sweet potato fries. Loved them too. My husband ordered Black Bean Burger. Same awe inspired after the first bite because of the soft bun and then with every bite I realized… This is the best black bean burger patty I have ever ate. I believe I am charmed with this two these so I forgot to mention that we had a starter.. Clam Chowder! It is was good too. It was fresh, clean, and healthy. Lastly to have a dessert we shared a humming bird cake . It had nuts, and banana. Another heavenly dish! Loved eating with whipped cream. I tried to avoid eating layering creamer frost as well as the outer frosting. It was too sweet. But the cake itself is awesome. I total for two we spend $60 including tax and tips. Server was so polite and really helpful. Service was good on time despite most tables were full. No wonder this place is over 200 years old and still people love it. I believe not only because of the food but also for good etiquette and beautiful ambience!

Everything was great! Great food, great cocktails, and great service! We dined outside and we all had the Duffy burger. Highly recommend! Great burgers! I added some avocado slices to mine! So tasty! We’ll be back again!

Fabulously preserved old house that evokes an older age – the hardwoods, the decor, the walls windows and furnishings are all older. Fireplaces heat the room. For those who don’t like that, don’t come – but it’s certainly comfortable and well maintained. Menu is higher end new American. Lots of choices. My duck was perfect. The grilled items were all a touch overdone, the dryness of the chicken on the Gnocchi (which was very rich otherwise) and pork chop did detract from the dish a bit. I didn’t find the wine list an issue like other reviewers – they had some excellent diverse choices, if slightly overpriced. Service was excellent. Friendly helpful and prompt. Only 3-4 miles from downtown state college.

Very nice restaurant. The old style tavern feel offers a nice atmosphere and numerous spaces to dine. Enjoyed a very nice burger, as well as the pretzels and French Onion soup.

We came to Maine on vacation to explore the coast. We stopped at Duffy’s for dinner. We ordered two glasses of white wine, shrimp and scallops scampi and haddock taco with quinoa salad. I found a fruit fly in my wine so I had to return it. The wine selection is not great. However, the food was tasty and service was fast. We noticed some fruit flies flying around. Won’t come back.

Really disappointed in the food. I’ve never had bland crab bisque, until today. Fries weren’t crispy. Instead were greasy and limp. “Sangria” was red wine with water – not seltzer, and no liquor- just watered-down red wine with an orange slice. Burger was decent though ordered “pink” and it was “brown”.

The food is of high quality with good presentation. The homemade desserts were fantastic. The waitress was very polite and the Hostess was helpful. The cost was at the higher end of the spectrum but not unreasonable for the quality. The atmosphere of the establishment was sadly disappointing! Touted as historic, it has potential but falls notably short of the mark. Just because something is old doesn’t make it an antique or classic item worthy of display. The interior feels cluttered and the “historic” wooden chairs are extremely uncomfortable. That being said the food was good enough that I will definitely go back with the intention of eating outside on the patio instead!

We love Duffy’s and frequently go there for dinner. A Duffy burger has always been a favorite. The last time we were ther however, was most disappointing. Duffy’s no longer serves coleslaw as a side dish, but they have substituted a fruit cup instead. As a dinner side, fruit cups are not that appealing to us. I ordered onion rings that were highly breaded and not crisp at all. They were actually very gooey. We have never had bad food at Duffy’s, but this time was disappointing. Is there a new kitchen staff? Our server seem to be new and had problems with our order at the beginning. Giving that person benefit of the doubt as perhaps being new, there is no criticism there. We were just disappointed in the food. We will wait awhile before going back.
