Visiting my brother in the immediate area, I decided to make a short Chicago Dog circuit, and visited D’s Dogs and Chickies on Roosevelt, and Mickey’s on Mannheim near Washington. Up front I gotta say I can’t stand that sweet relish that seems required of a Chicago Dog, so I told each place to please leave it off. I’m happy to report they all did, but only one of the three served up what I was expecting. D’s served up the requisite Vienna dog, soft bun, onions, mustard, a (one) dill pickle slice and a couple slices of tomato, but nary a sport pepper. Seriously? One down and two to go…
