The truth is, you don’t become a Louisiana favorite just by putting the word “authentic” on your sign. When you’ve served Cajun meals as long as we have, you learn the difference between real food and a bland imitation, and our guests know it too.
Grilled, fried or on ice–there’s time cooked into every dish and time spent on every home cooked recipe, so that every aroma, every bite, every sip and every gathering is memorable.
We’ve spent more than 80 years creating a recipe for something much greater than a place for a lunch break or night out. It’s a place to share (or keep the whole plate to yourself), a place where you always have a seat ready at the table and a place where you’re always part of the family.
Relaxed destination offering Southern classics like seafood gumbo, as well as grilled meat.

Fun fact: this restaurant is very quick in response to its messages through Facebook messenger and even allowed me to make a reservation through that app. We made dinner reservations…

The food was delicious and the service was great! Based on the number of cars in the parking lot, I thought I would have to wait to be seated but I didn’t. The hostess escorted me to a table immediately.

Good Choice for a evening dinner. For a Wednesday, it was almost packed. I saw two women diving into two full plates of crayfish and licking their fingers clean off, lol. A few people at the bar drinking and eating, and one old dude getting mad while drinking. Luckily, no fights.

We travel the country full-time and always look for local favorite restaurants. We had the most wonderful time exploring cajun food here since we’re not accustomed to it in MN. Our waitperson, Kendall, was fantastic. She even demonstrated how to eat crawfish. She was a joy to interact with.

Lauren was my waitress and she was not good! She was spectacular!!! She was attentive, very personable, and very knowledgeable about the menu. This was my first time in and had no idea what to order. After a short conversation, where she asked a few key questions, she was able to direct me to a few choices on the menu. But told me if I wanted a good choice that would not disappoint I should try the shrimp platter that basically was a sampler of all the ways Don’s could fix shrimp. AND LAUREN WAS RIGHT it was absolutely phenomenal! I travel with my job and get tired of all the chain restaurants, and always look for local cuisine. Thank you for great food great service, and a wonderful waitress. Lauren is a total asset and she is what pushed my first time experience over the top. I come through this area twice a year and this is my knew favorite stop.

Six of us (two young kids) had a great seafood dinner last week. Between the six of us we had grilled cheese, gumbo, mahi mahi, Cajun ravioli and hush puppies for an appetizer. Everything was excellent except for the hush puppies. Hubby thought they were fried in old oil and I felt they were way too sweet. Daughter on the other hand, who allows way too much sugar in her life, thought they were great. ♀️

AWESOME seafood!! Wow the shrimp and grits dinner was the best! In my opinion better than the Commander’s Palace. And the white chocolate bread pudding was yummy! All the staff were very friendly and very helpful, no lazy staff, all staff (greeter, bartender, server) were happy and followed up with great service. (they all seemed happy/glad to work there instead of it’s just a job to get paid) Will stop by again on next trip on I-12 as it’s easy to get to.

2-16-23 I’m back. OMG this time the food was off the chain again. We had the Oyster again with fish, shrimp, and gumbo. Also try the blackened alligator. Ashton was the best. 8-15-22 Food was wonderful, you must try the Charbroiled Oysters and gumbo. I will be back.
