I went there on the evening of New Year’s Day to get the traditional southern New Year’s Day meal. The people there were incredible. That is their busiest day of the year and they had cars lined up all the way around the building and our waiter have been working all day on New Year’s Day and he was still so good to get along with. Funny, personable, a great waiter. The food is always great at Lizards Thicket. Fried pork chop, Black Eyed Peas, collard greens. Excellent!

This little gem I found in Lexington SC. This is a clean very friendly place. The food was seasoned well and had a lot of Southern favorites. My server was delightful, and bubbly. Menu was simple yet filled with many choices.

This restaurant is a Columbia, SC chain . I think they have 3 locations. We went there for lunch I tried the salmon and my mom had the catfish. We both enjoyed our meals, But my mom thought the catfish was a little salty. Everything was fresh and tasty. Great place for home cooked meals on the go. The prices are decent. We paid $10 for a meat and 2 vegetables and $12.99 because we had catfish.

We’ve had breakfast dates here in Lexington with our oldest granddaughter since she was old enough to eat a biscuit. Consistent food quality. Excellent catfish and grits. Be patient with the hard working servers, as they’re still battling staff shortages.
Update…Country Ham, grits, and red-eye gravy for breakfast. Yum!! Sylvia took good care of us, as always.

The male server took my wife’s order and asked. “What for the young man”? That was really the last thing I needed to hear. I wanted to go off on him but I didn’t want to ruin my wife’s meal.He said some other stupid things. He was a great server and we left him a generous tip but he needs to learn what to say and what not to say. I’m still pissed because I didn’t get to straighten him out. The food was excellent as always.
Calling an old customer a young man is like calling a fat man a skinny man. Tell your male server to shut up and do his job. He said some other stupid things to ruin my meal in your restaurant.

Tried this place for the first and it was okay. The service was great and I loved the old timey feel to that place. I got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and cabbage. The chicken had good flavor to it but was a bit dry but the mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious. The cabbage was cooked well but it turns out I don’t like it when it’s cooked with ham hock (not a mark against lizard thicket since it’s a personal preference and not anything they did wrong). I didn’t try the rolls there but the cornbread muffin was very dry and dense. It felt like I was chewing on the muffin for 5 minutes before I finally washed it down with my drink.

Southern down home cooking with a good helping of hospitality on the side.
I live in Chicago but I am from SC. Every time that I am in town I HAVE TO visit Lizards Thicket. It’s the best fast southern food out there. My entire family is a fan. We love it.
Rec: Catfish with cheese grits.

Got breakfast here, waited a good 5-10 minutes and all three of my biscuits were completely cold, the sausage was not even warm, the biscuits were not warm. I mean it felt like my biscuits came out of a fridge, not sure why I waited for cold biscuits, normally have a good experience here but this was horrible.

I’ve always loved LT and make a point to stop when Im passing through the midlands. But when we stopped by Sunday around 230, the service at this location was not pleasing. The hostess was confused with who was doing the seating and the waitress ruahed us along qith our dining experience. And the food portion was concerning as well. Granted we had enough to eat but was not Sunday dinner portions, more like lunch size. Totally not what I remember about previous visits to LT.
