Man, I’m going to have an unpopular opinion here – but it was just ok food-wise. My favorite part of the meal was my root beer float. You can’t go wrong with Stewart’s Root Beer and vanilla ice cream, but I wasn’t really there for that. The fries were delicious too – plus there were overflow fries in the bag (like Five Guys does).
The cheesesteak was good/just OK. My usual (for cheesesteaks) is a steak with provolone, light fried onions. That’s what I got. Roll was fresh but too soft (it’s also round- which is their thing- with poppy seeds), cheese and onions were a perfect ratio to meat, but I felt like the meat was just a step up from a Steak-umm in terms of flavor and consistency, which kind of ruined it for me, besides the bread. The sandwich was big though – I only ate half.
The atmosphere was great. I like being able to sit outside, plus their tables have umbrellas for some shade. The day we went, they had live music, so we got to sit out there and really enjoy ourselves because it wasn’t busy. I don’t know that I need to go back with so many choices around for a good steak. Hope this helps!

The service is great but the cheesesteak is overrated. It is INCREDIBLY salty. (We got it with Wiz). We also got the panzerotti and the donkey’s tails with gochujang sauce and the funnel cake fries. The fries were actually the best that I ever tasted but the other foods unfortunately meh. I don’t regret checking it out as I had great things about it. But now that I ticked the box, I don’t see myself coming back anytime soon.

Great find in Mt Holly, NJ. Obviously I love the original in Camden, NJ but had no idea there are a few more. This one is takeout only but has outdoor tables to sit and eat at.these are identical to the Camden location. Fries are great and service is excellent.

As a whole an enjoyable cheesesteak and nice change from a traditional roll. Overall I would place it in my upper middle tier of cheesesteaks but would like to reassess sometime in next few months.

I always love a Donkey’s Cheesesteak, so I had to try the Mount Holly location. While it’s not as good as the original, I do love the sandwich. Something felt a tad off with the breading, and one or two bites had an odd flavor. Other than that, it’s still one of my favorite cheesesteaks in the area!

Not your typical cheesesteak, but it was excellent. Tried the cheesesteak with provolone and fried onions and it was really tasty, a bit messy, but great nonetheless. Fries with spicy ketchup are a nice touch. Prepare to wait a bit for your food, especially if it’s busy. Looking forward to getting another steak soon.

OMG!! This was my first visit to this Donkey’s Place in Mount, Laurel, NJ and I had the BEST customer service experience ever!! The girls were a ray of sunshine, smiles and super friendly! Then I met Jim who was just as nice, friendly with the biggest smile ever!!
This is a takeout only spot with plenty of outdoor seating and lots of free parking.
The foods smell absolutely AMAZING and SUPER delicious !!!

My coworker told me that this is the best Philly cheesesteak and I finally was driving through the area on a trip to Philly, so I had to stop.
I’m no expert, but I can say this was very good and I’m glad I finally tried it. I loved the non-traditional roll. The addition of poppy seeds was great.
I was wishing they had some indoor seating today since it was cold and raining, but it was delicious so I didn’t care that I had to eat in my car. They were even nice enough to bring it to my car for me so I didn’t have to go out in the rain again.
