Portions are on the large side. Prices are in line with the area. I have noticed that pricing for all restaurants are rising and Dona Maria is no exception.
Service is spotty. Sometimes it is fantastic and others, down right terrible. I guess that the spotty service is why it is not a 5star.
Another visit on 5/7/22. They have remodeled the interior. It is now bright and shiny. The food is still very good. Prices have risen to the new normal of the South Bay Area.
It’s a small restaurant in a strip mall… decor was really cute.
1 bathroom for customer use. It was clean.
Chips and salsa were like $2.25, maybe more, as I don’t quite remember, but I was not expecting that and I thought it was quite expensive…I was told
“NO Refills on chips, but that I can buy another basket for the same price.”
Ordered 2 different burritos. My mom and I cut the burritos in half so we could each try the “Breakfast burrito” and the “Chile Verde burrito”
So, the menu stated fried potatoes can be added for 95 cents… so I asked for them in my burrito…
The flour tortilla was filled with a lot of cooked pinto beans (I prefer refried beans) but was not asked my preference when ordering. Some small pieces of ham, diced potatoes, onion and some overcooked egg was also in the burrito. It was all very bland, not even my added salt, pepper and HOT sauce could flavor it up.
As for the Chile Verde burrito… again came with lots of pinto beans, some rice and some pork meat in green sauce. Again, the rice and beans were overwhelming compared to the Chile Verde.
The chile verde itself did have a spicy but good undertone to it. The meat chunks were rather small and sparse in the burrito.
Overall, we both liked the Chile Verde burrito better than the Breakfast Burrito.
As for service… it was basic. The lady took our order. With good time, the food came out to us. Had to ask for water refills twice. She didn’t really talk so experience was not inviting.
When the bill came, I was charged $1.25 to put very little potatoes in the breakfast burrito… it said 95 cents… hmm. Didn’t like that. Menu prices should be accurate.
Oh well…
We will not be returning to this location…
Food, service and prices … just not worth it.
Salsa is inconsistent through my multiple visits they somehow all tasted different.
Tacos are good and the meat choices are decent/acceptable. The taco salads bowl is GIANT lol the bowl is 6 inches diameter
Would love to see the food taste being consistent.. would still visit again
