Mountain Lakes Bagel in Mountain Lakes, NJ has been in business since 1996 with original owners (and Mountain Lakes residents), with Bob and Dawn. Bob has been in the pizza and bagel business for the last 40 years. Dawn also worked in a bagel store growing up in Queens as a teenager. These owners have some serious bagel skills! We only use the highest quality ingredients. Bob says If I won’t eat it I won’t sell it!. Make sure to stop by to see us on Route 46 in Mountain Lakes for our fresh daily bagels as well as sandwiches, wraps, salads, fresh coffee and more! We love our customers! We deliver within three miles with a minimum $20 order before taxes and fees.

Amazing food at good prices. No nonsense ordering. I ordered bagels to go for traveling with intent to freeze them and the workers gave me a freezer bag and some tips to properly freeze for best quality. I have since thawed them out and started eating them and they’re still fantastic! This is a picture of Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel; the other picture is part of the sandwich along with a bite of blueberry bagel with cream cheese (they put a ton on and it’s delicious)!

FRESH DELICIOUS BAGELS DONE RIGHT HERE! My husband thinks the everything’s are too salty – a lot coming from a 25 year experienced executive chef but I think they’re great. Love the sesame and pumpernickel – the blueberry has real BLUEBERRIES and lemon zest too. Amazing veggie and scallion cream cheese! I do think the egg sandwiches would benefit from a second egg and/or more cheese and seems others agree from the other reviews here. The counter help need customer service/order management training. Obviously only the best bagel stores in NJ are hopping on a weekend morning but 4 stars because no reason to yell at customers or give them bad attitude. Also would be nice to clean up the front customer waiting area and I’d pass right by the coffee! But if you’re looking for good bagels this is as good as it gets from here.

Parking lot is small and usually busy in the morning. They have a good selection of beverages and bagels. Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a bagel was fresh, moist and delicious. Bacon, egg and cheese was pretty good too but bacon could have been slightly crispier. Ordering and paying don’t happen at the same time. Can be confusing when you first come here. Would come back!

We love this place. The bagels are always perfectly cooked and they make a great Bacon Egg and Cheese. They can be a bit busy depending on the time of day, but it’s completely justified and worth waiting it out.

Bagels are amazing but the only people that seem to ever get my orders right are Sam and Mike!! The other workers can be somewhat rude at times but they’re also really young. Food is a 5 service is a 4.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I placed an order with them via Seamless/Grubhub. I purchased a turkey bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel and in the notes stated the kind of bagel, cheese and anything additional. By the time it got to me it was not only cold, but incorrectly made and for the $15 it cost, was horribly put together. There was hardly any egg on the bagel and the bagel itself was chewy and disgusting. When I called to note my concerns, the male manager or owner jumped on the phone stating they are NOT on seamless which to be honest from the initial woman that answered the phone, sounds like they don’t even understand what seamless is! He insisted that they are NOT on this platform when I clearly confirmed the name and address and proceeded to hang up on me. I called Seamless immediately to refund me which they did thankfully and now they are calling the bagel store directly. Save yourself the aggravation with the incompetent staff and get yourself a halfway decent breakfast at any other bagel and deli. I will NEVER recommend or even so much as step foot near this disgusting establishment.

My favorite bagel shop, hands down! Growing up I always considered this place the best. Although I’ve moved away and pretty much everything else has seemed to change, it’s comforting knowing this place hasnt! Just recently visited and it’s still the best bagel place hands down! If in the area, you should grab a TEC on a hard roll and a dozen bagels assorted with some of their cream cheese spreads, you won’t regret it.

Ordered by phone and stood at the counter until the 2 older ladies finished their conversation. I believe the owner was standing at the grill and she saw this. While they ignored me, they took another customer who wasn’t waiting and they directed me where I could order. I guess they were annoyed that I didnt follow their ordering process. Told them I placed a phone order, got my food and haven’t gone back since.

Delicious bagels and sandwiches, easily my favorite in the area. That’s why they’re always packed! Unfortunately, they always mess up my order. I ordered a sandwich on a plain bagel and got an everything bagel. Another time, I got an egg bagel. I order Taylor ham and cheese and I get Taylor ham, egg and cheese on more than one occasion. The staff is super friendly and the food is amazing, just learned to check my order before I leave.
