Great breakfast! Good service. French toast, omelet and biscuits… All good. Long time, locally owned restaurant. EAT LOCAL!

The food is always fantastic, and they get the order right every time! Coffee stays full, too! The only issue I had was that they told us (party of 3) to seat ourselves, so we did. There was a table nearby with a sign that said “5 or more only,” but the one we sat at did not have a sign. Now, I’m a hefty lady, and my grandad is 85 years old, so no booth for us. The waitress flat out told us that we were going to have to move to a booth or another table that was boxed into a corner, then she said we were okay where we were unless a bigger party came in, then she actually went and found a table in a different part of the restaurant and started moving our drinks for us, saying, “I found you a table over here!” If you tell people to seat themselves, then don’t complain about where they sit! We tip well, so the waitress that ended up serving us got a good tip, plus some for taking up the slack of the other one. We will be back, but definitely will be selective of our server.

Who wouldn’t fall in love with the Dixie Pig Restaurant? The folks there are always nice as can be. The waitresses are awesome, most have worked there for a long time! The walls are filled with nostalgia. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The only bad thing you can really say about this place is they don’t take cards. Or that it’s sometimes so hard to park or grab a table because everyone is there! They even resolved the card thing by putting in an atm! The staff knows your name (and what you’re having) if you are a regular. The Dixie pig is embellished with everything pig over the years and it’s just fun to look around. The food is classic diner and not these big chains that remove all flavor. Young or old, you’ll find something you love here.

Driving through abilene on a road trip. The only good thing is the biscuits and gravy. The coffee is weak and the hash browns were awful. Staff is very nice though.

Great place to eat. The service is awesome. The food is truly to die for but the best part about it is the family environment you feel as soon as you step inside. This place is a true gem of Abilene and I would recommend it to everyone. You won’t be disappointed

Just made our second visit in a couple of months. Walked in and was told to sit anywhere. We chose a booth that my husband wiped off so we could sit. Sat down and waited with no acknowledgement. Then waited while they waited on a man that came in 10 minutes after us.

went their for breakfast today. (4-25-23) my friend that was with me found a long hair in her pancakes. she showed it to the waitress and all she said was “well its not mine”…. then I told the owner and showed it to him, and all he said was “well we can tell it’s not yours” (because I’m bald on top and the rest of my hair is very short). I know these things can happen, but not once was an apology offered. apparently all they know how to do is use snarky comments. it’ll be quite sometime before I ever go back there. if you decide to go there, check your food for hair and who knows what else. and don’t look for an apology, just snarky comments. guess they’ve just been there so long that they have forgotten what true hospitality is……
