On a random Tuesday evening, the place was packed with only two small open tables. There is bar seating too, but not my preference. I ordered the 6oz Sirloin salad, which came with garlic bread as an appetizer. The thin cut garlic bread was tasty but a bit too oily for me. My order came out in a timely manner, though the steak was only warm instead of hot. It is for topping a salad though, so I don’t blame them. It came with olives and banana peppers that I removed, along with a sliced thin over hard (lightly green yolk) boiled egg, feta cheese, cucumber slices, and red onion on top of a mixed greens salad. Overall, it was very tasty. I highly recommend asking about their alcohol ice cream.

We went there one week after the Valentine’s Day to celebrate the special occasion and the restaurant was full on a Thursday so it’s important to make reservations.

It’s my first time there and I’d say the average
google review stars I read from others is higher than what I had received. We ordered the recommended meals of the day from the chef. Cajun Mahi-mahi and the smashed potatoes were slightly plain but the fish itself is good. The sautéed mushroom is quite salty and the garlic bread is a little bit over toasted and salty. The peach blackberry mock tail is just like a mixed juice and I hope their tea selection can be expanded to just non brand black tea bag if this is a local high end restaurant which I expect more. The atmosphere is great and the waiter that day was great. French onion soup and steak were good~ Food was served fast so I am hoping to go back and try different things as I think their steak and other dishes should be good.

The tiramisu was a little bit watery which I have had much better ones in other Italian restaurants near here. I really think they need to adjust their seasoning on several things in this restaurant and do quality control to keep their good reputation which seems a local favorite restaurant because of the history, location and the atmosphere.

Shout out to our waitress Alivia! She was amazing and so sweet when the prime rib didn’t quite live up to what I hoped for. She auickly got me my replacement and it was delicious. She was attentive without being over bearing during the meal. The fish was crispy and inside perfectly flaky. Don’t get me started on the bread…I need to know the secret. It’s like it’s dipped in melted butter and then air fried to *chefs kiss*
Drinks were super good as well! I was so happy to see you had a chocolate martini. The bartenders were nice too:)

We stopped at Digger’s based on a recommendation from our Air BNB host on the way from Indiana to South Dakota and absolutely loved it! They had excellent service and fantastic food. The prime rib was especially tasty, and we also really enjoyed the cheese curds and snow crab and artichoke dip. The Cajun shrimp were also tasty, and so was their soup. If I lived closer, I would frequent this spot. For what we got, the menu was reasonably priced. Our service was also great, especially considering how full the restaurant was. Don’t be deceived by the older exterior and missing lights on the sign – the inside of this restaurant is very charming and the food is wonderful.

My husband had 14oz boneless ribeye. Steak was cooked to perfection at med rare. Everything was outstanding including the old fashioned. I had shrimp Alfredo. Service was top notch.

We went to dinner for my birthday. Full disclosure, we both forgot to make a reservation. So we showed up to see if there were any openings. We snagged a reservation for later in the evening and then walked around and visited local establishments in the meantime. Once we got back, we were seated and then greeted by our server. We ordered drinks and started with the Snow Crab and Artichoke Dip for an appetizer. For the record, it was unbelievably delicious. We then both ordered a steak with a seafood addition. The scallops and Cajun shrimp were both fantastic. The steaks were both perfectly cooked and amazing cuts. We ended with the ever famous grasshopper. But since we were full, we split it. I would 100% come back and try more of the menu. The atmosphere is the true supper club vibe.

I was given a choice of where to celebrate my birthday. I chose Diggers. Four guests were from out of town/state and it was there first visit. We were seated immediately. Our server Maddie was amazing! Kudos to her for her professionalism and friendliness. Orders were of steak, prime rib and salmon. Everyone raved about the food. Generous portion sizes so got to enjoy our meals again. I love the atmosphere. No bright lights, unique decor, just different from any place. Never felt rush and even brought me an ice cream treat for my birthday. It was a perfect night spent with loved ones.

We loved the cheese curds, Caesar salad, battered shrimp, and prime rib. Super disappointed in the steak fries as they were chewy….not good. Mashed potatoes were okay. Definitely would have liked better tasting sides! Love the atmosphere.

I had dinner at Digger’s Sting with my three aunts while visiting La Crosse for work. This was my first time here, and I was impressed from the start. The atmosphere has a historic charm, with a beautiful bar and well-set tables.

Service was great—our server was down-to-earth, shared the specials, and made us feel well taken care of. We all ended up ordering the specials, and the food didn’t disappoint. The salmon, topped with garlic dill, was packed with flavor—maybe a bit strong for some, but I enjoyed it.

Overall, a great experience! I’ll definitely be bringing my wife next time we’re in town. Highly recommend checking this place out!
