I had lunch here yesterday and ordered the salmon, which came with two salads – one on the same plate as the salmon and another on the side. Unfortunately, the salad on the plate smelled bad, as it was starting to spoil, and the side salad had a few rotten pieces in it.
I mentioned this to the waiter, who spoke with the manager and returned saying they would give me a 10% discount. Honestly, if I were the manager, I would have come over personally to apologize for the situation.
Here is picture:
Cons: Amazingly loud for a mostly empty restaurant (the music was blasting way too loud). A waitress seated us facing 4 screens playing sports. Then another brought our appetizer of corn beef rolls topped with slaw in a mustard horseradish sauce. But we had no plates silverware or napkins (I have not eaten coleslaw with bare hands and no napkins…so odd?) Got utensils and napkins finally, the rolls were AMAZING!!
But then, a large group came in to watch the screens and were staring through us and yelling sort of at me a foot away. So we moved tables to a quieter location. Husband who eats at this restaurant 5ish times a year, got nice fish and chips. I ordered the Irish breakfast. The meats are TOP quality, best I’ve had outside of UK. The eggs were not as I ordered them and the toast was stale, super sweet, and dry (NOT the sourdough on the menu). This could have been fixed if the waitresses had ever come back but they did not. No refills or checks on dinner they just sped past. (We were right on the route to and from the kitchen so were visible to the staff.)
Will have to try again and hope staffing issues are resolved by then.
The bartenders decided to ignore me for 15 minutes since they were both too busy flirting with another patron and literally ignored me.
One star for horrid service. I got up and left.
The food is also nothing to write home about.
Despite the crowds, we found a table, but the service was lackluster. We had to hunt down our own utensils and napkins after our food arrived. The food itself has fallen off tremendously; I ordered the Reuben, which was incredibly small for the price, and my wife’s Fish and Chips made her sick within 30 minutes of eating. Paying $100 for a meal that results in illness and poor service is unacceptable. It’s a shame to see such a decline in atmosphere and quality after all these years.
