Amazing atmosphere, engaging team and endless flavor creations that never seem to stop coming!

Highly recommend you try this, they were very accommodating to come up with vegetarian options (ensure you request in advance…or else). Some options felt a little lacking compared to the non-veg alternative however one dish created from scratch was the highlight of the trip and lifted the entire experience.

Our favourite dining experience in Hobart. All team members were friendly and made it fun.

Food was divine, showcasing local Tassie produce in a very modern and restrained way. (If you’re from Sydney and are into cosy wine bars like Bar Copains, Jane and Ante, this is the one for you!)

10/10 on all fronts.

We like to treat ourselves to a nice dinner when we travel and Dier Makr fit the bill for this quick getaway. We opted for the additional wine pairing and it did NOT disappoint.

Excellent service from both Dier Makr and next door’s Lucinda from the moment we arrived (too early); beautiful decor and the food. My goodness, the food!!!
Starting with a series of ‘snacks’, our degustational journey took us on a trip through Tasmania and every course exceeded the one prior.

We booked seats at the kitchen bench and were able to watch the chefs prepare everything in front of us, which was immensely satisfying and interesting to watch. The staff were knowledgeable and engaging, and the kitchen space was so clean, tidy and organised, my type A brain enjoyed every second of the experience.

Highly recommend a visit if you’re in town, such a special place and one we will be returning to on our next visit. Thank you!!!

Attended with enthusiasm after reading reviews for a special occasion.
Food was very good.
Ambience was not great, music was good but very loud and the acoustics were terrible to the point we could not hear each other or the waiters when explaining our dishes.
I feel we as a table of two were overlooked and for some reason received little attention compared to other larger tables.
Our meals were brought out sporadically and with long gaps to the matching wines. They forgot cutlery for one dish and in the scramble then forgot to tell us what the dish was. Not the end of the world, but for $300 per head started to put a dampener on the experience.
Wine pairing was exceptional, but very small pours which resulted in our table being bare and empty of any food or drink for long periods of the evening.
Overall lovely food, but walked out overall disappointed in the evening.

The service was very friendly, professional and nice! Didn’t bombard for tips at the end. The food – some was delicious some was quite salty, but I guess it’s because of the sauce. My partner liked the food, I didn’t enjoy them as much. They do have quite an extensive wine and beverage list though.

Second time I have had the pleasure of eating here. The service and food was impeccable. The wine pairing was spot on and we couldn’t have been happier. A night with great food, awesome service, fantastic organic wine and the best music on vinyl.

We will be back.

The people here are lovely, and the place has a cool vibe. They serve well-prepared organic food and wine, with clear skill and effort behind each dish. While we appreciated the quality, the overall experience didn’t fully resonate with us.

Since the New Year, the prices have increased, and aside from the organic aspect, we found it hard to justify the value. We understand the challenges in the hospitality industry, and ultimately, we’re all seeking a great night out with enjoyable food – which this place does provide.

I’d recommend it to others who appreciate this style, but for us, it feels more like a one-time experience. The atmosphere leans a bit too hipster for the price point.

Still, credit where it’s due – the effort and passion behind the food are undeniable.

Bookmarked this place and had very high expectations due to the excellent reviews. However, the food was overrated and not worth the price. Some of the dishes were plain weird, like the mussels with baby corn. It did not match at all. Alot of the dishes were also very salty. Portions are small as well. This was also the only restaurant during our whole trip to show us the tipping screen (on the credit card machine), making me feel obliged to tip them on top of the already expensive (for the food quality and amount) meal. Just to be clear, this is not our first fine dining meal. But it certainly is one of the rare few times we walk away feeling scammed by the good reviews.

First night in Hobart and did not disappoint. The menu started with a delicious tasting plate and only got better with each dish. All dishes were 5 star, the highlight was the beef tartare with mushroom, and the strawberry pepper dessert.
Love the paddock to plate organic philosophy. The staff and chefs were all so hospitable and knowledgeable with the menu and products sourced.
We went without matching wines and their by the glass selection is fantastic.

Simply the best. If you are looking for the best dining experience in Hobart/Tasmania/possibly all of Australia, add Dier Makr to your hit list.

Every single aspect of the dining experience is considered & thought of. The interiors, the table aspect, the chairs, and then onto the obvious pairings (both alc & nonalc) and then the food.

The food was the star. The no-look menu is always fun, but these guys give you tastes and delicacies you could never dream of, yet are everything you want. They were also very considerate of my partner who is a pescatarian, making her a custom menu with no fuss (but lots of fuss from us at the deliciousness).

On the night that we went, every single dish was a huge WOW moment, and there aren’t many dining experiences that you can say that about. We were simply in awe of the staff and their skills.

Trust us, book in here.
