There is no better family destination for a great meal. The attention to detail is always exceptional. The family Fun atmosphere is always evident. There is a little fire show at the Hibachi Tables, there is a dance floor with a DJ that provides good music, , TVs all around and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday they even have a balloon artist or face painter to ramp up the fun.

We visted on a busy Saturday evening. This is a popular restaurant in the area we stayed for a weekend birthday getaway in the Pocono mountains. The food was very good. The staff friendly and professional. Our chefs were entertaining and the atmosphere was fun.

While staying at Kalahari, we were craving some Asian food and decided to try Desaki. The restaurant itself looks great, and they had face painting and balloon making for the kids, which was such a nice touch and kept everyone entertained.
Kaden was our server and did a fantastic job. He was attentive, friendly, and always smiling — it was refreshing to see that kind of positive energy and service.
That said, it was uncomfortable to watch the owner (or manager) correct Kaden on how to serve — especially since it was done in a way that felt embarrassing and demoting rather than constructive. It took away a bit from the otherwise pleasant experience.
The portions were generous, but the noodles and fried rice were slightly overcooked. On the bright side, Stevie the cook was hilarious and really brought the fun with his hibachi skills — definitely entertaining and engaging.
Overall, a fun atmosphere for families, with a few areas that could make the experience even better.

My husband & I went here for dinner on my birthday while we were in the Poconos. Everything started off fine. When it came time to order, I was very specific with what I wanted. I asked for plain fried rice with onion & plain chicken on the side, no teriyaki. I basically wanted chicken fried rice. I told them no teriyaki multiple times. They began to cook and they ended up pouring teriyaki on my onions, which they took back & then they did it to my rice, which they took back & said they had to cook my food in the back. My Husband already had his food at this point and he was upset about them not making my food correctly & also the same portions he got compared to the people next to us of another color. My food still hadn’t come out after some time. So we asked for our check so we could just leave. We didn’t eat anything. All we had was 2 sodas. My Husband no longer wanted his food because I didnt have mine & why would he eat without me, but I was still going to take mine to go if made correctly. So they gave us the check and it was $89 for chicken fried rice, 2 sodas and their tip, which wasnt deserved. They charged us for a meal on the menu that we didn’t order and said that because I ordered the chicken, that’s what they charged me for. I said I ordered a side of chicken with my rice. They said they dont offer that on their menu & I said the waiter should have said that. The waiter should have said if you’re going to order a side of chicken, we are going to charge you $46 for a whole entree. But when I requested it, the waiter said “yeah we can do that”. I would have never agreed to pay $46 for a single piece of chicken breast. I told them they were going to have to call the cops at that point. I WILL NEVER VISIT THIS PLACE AGAIN. THE MANAGERS ARE OBNOXIOUS…ESPECIALLY ALEX. And to have the audacity to add a 20% gratuity on to bills when the service was subpar is beyond me. They kept stating this is an expensive restaurant but really its a dressed up dump. Count your days Desaki

Very disappointing experience. We waited over 45 minutes to be seated, only to watch the hostess, Sarai, seat people who arrived after us in the best seats with a clear view of the hibachi show. When it was finally our turn, we were placed all the way in the back — not the usual side seating like most hibachi tables, but directly in the back, where you literally cannot see anything except people’s backs.
What’s the point of paying for a hibachi show if you can’t even see the chef perform? That’s the entire reason people go to a hibachi restaurant.
See the picture I attached where I circled the exact area where the hostess wanted to seat us (we were a party of 4). That spot clearly shows how far back it was and why there was absolutely no view of the show.
We spoke to the manager, Fred, and he did absolutely nothing to fix the situation. He simply said “okay” and called other people from the waiting list instead of trying to accommodate us or offer a solution.
The customer service was terrible, and this completely ruined what was supposed to be my birthday celebration. I left feeling ignored and disrespected. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place if you’re expecting fair seating or good customer service.

First, what a nice place. Very large, well maintained and great atmosphere. The chefs and food was outstanding. Yes, pricey, just the location should remind you, you’re going to pay more in the Poconos. Took a bit to get started because they don’t reservations, instead fill a grill and then start.
Our server was a little inattentive to drink refills and took a bit long to get us the check, but outside this minor hiccup, the place was great!!!!

Food was great but extremely pricey. You pay for the location. Next time I will bring my own food. We spend 500 between 5 of us.

Mediocre sushi with portions that don’t match the prices. Service was poor. I couldn’t even get the server’s attention for a water refill. To make matters worse, shortly after eating here (when my card was taken to the back), my credit card was compromised. There was a $1,500 unauthorized charge followed by an attempted $7,500 charge before it was caught. This card hadn’t been used in quite a while before dining here and was not used again afterward, so while I can’t say for certain how it happened, the timing is hard to ignore.

Awesome atmosphere. Super friendly staff. I can’t imagine how stressful and difficult it is to run a food business. the Only issue we had was that the food was seriously was overpriced. The location was huge and super high end with a waterfall and PlayStation 5 and x box you can play in the waiting lobby. but spending almost $60 per person is a bit much. the food we ate was pretty normal everyday habatchi you can find almost anywhere. I got the steak and chicken and it was just regular steak and chicken with rice and veggies but for $60. I’ve been to resuraunts where the food was out of this world and every dish was unique flavor and worth every penny, but my wife and I both thought this place’s food was pretty basic for the price tag…Maybe the other dishes we did not try justify the high prices? Only plus on the high price is that the food portions were large so that’s good. Sushi seemed pretty high priced as well but sushi is always more expensive. They force you to spend an extra $20 dollars if your order is under a certain price point. Three adults and two kids it came to almost $220 after tax.

Food was actually really good… BUT…
I have never in my life felt so rushed at a restaurant. The hibachi-style experience with the chefs is fun, but it was obvious they wanted us in and out as fast as possible. As soon as the food was done cooking, they brought out boxes—and we were asked 3–4 times if we were ready for them to pack up our meals while we were still eating.
My husband was going to order another drink, but honestly we didn’t even have time for that. For a bill over $300, being rushed like that completely ruined the experience.
We have a very similar place where we live with bigger portions, cheaper prices, and they never make us feel like we’re being pushed out the door.
ALSO! The hibachi meal is supposed to include soup and no one in our group or the group next to us received it…
