This restaurant is beautiful on the inside and outside. The service was above average. We say at the bar while waiting for our table (8pm on a Friday) and the bartenders took a minute to come help us. They did quickly get us drinks. This restaurant appears to be geared towards the tourists because the prices were fairly high comparative to most hibachi restaurants ($7 for beer, $45-55 for most hibachi). The service once we were seated was fast. The food was excellent. They had really large portions too. I do not think I would return only because it was enormously expensive

Only giving this place a 4 star because the food is very good. Both my husband and I got the hibachi chicken meal.

Sydney was our server and she was absolutely amazing. She was super attentive and friendly. The food was amazing well prepared. It is a bit pricey I will say if compared to benihana and be mindful of the mandatory 20% gratuity that is already included. They also have nice music and entertainment.

This was not a winner for me! As a person who loves the hibachi food and experience, I felt this was not an authentic Japanese hibachi restaurant. They are overpriced and not worth it. I brought my family here for my birthday dinner and the food wasn’t great (noodles were thick, food drenched in soy sauce), my brother asked for steak very well done and crunchy and the cook did not listen. One of the cooks tried to do a trick with an egg and ended up breaking the egg on my mother’s plate. The hibachi experience was short and felt so rehearsed. They also tried to charge my brother’s wife a $20 fee for sharing a plate with her husband. She does not eat Japanese food and I had to complain about the policy for them to change the $20 fee to a minimum spend option, which I think is the more ethical thing to do. They also did not even sing happy birthday to my sister and I!

I rarely write reviews but when I do it’s because the place is either amazing or awful. Sadly, Desaki is the latter. Their prices are astronomical! We live in NYC and still don’t pay this much for hibachi or sushi. We wanted hibachi but didn’t want to sit at the hibachi table- but they don’t have it available for regular dining. The portions are tiny for a big price. The sushi is woof! The ratio of rice to fish is 3:1, not to mention they change $6 for brown rice. The staff is doing the best they can given the circumstances but even they are feeling effects of the new price increase. We were told this is a new thing and they are seeing a decline in business. It’s hard on the waitstaff as well as the customers who want to have a fun family dinner. For a family of four, you can expect to pay a minimum of $250 (no alcoholic beverages!!)

Way way EXPENSIVE! My family of 5 was 350$ and our two 10 y/o only had white rice. So basically 100+$/per person. The food was good but not that good. We could have done a luxury Steakhouse for cheaper. The service was POOR. The greeting was poor. The atmosphere was noisy. The bathroom was clean. The table stove was dirty.

This place is so good it’s a great time and the food is delicious! You can enjoy the hibachi which is a well thought out entertaining show of how food gets cooked. Or you can enjoy the sushi which is delightful, fresh and tasty.

It’s a nice welcoming restaurant, the staff was super friendly & fast. The hibachi chef was hilarious and the food was good. The drinks could have been stronger, but other than that it’s a nice family friendly restaurant.

Very loud, long wait(your whole block orders at once and they cook the food all together) the proteins were okay. The rice was the best part and it’s included with all meals. Good place for kids to have fun. But if your just trying to eat this is not the place.
