We came in, parking was super easy in their free lot, and we were greeted right away by a very nice woman. The place was clean as were the bathrooms.
We got menus very fast and a drink order was taken and delivered very fast.
The menu is somewhat large and there is a lot to choose from. Now, know this is not fine dinning, it is more like a diner.
We had several things. We tried for the first time a sampler of appetizers that included wings, fries and one other item, which name escapes me at the moment. It was very good. They put a hot sauce on the wings, and that is not shown in the photo on the menu and that we could have done without, so let them know if you try this.
We also had their Grand Slam breakfast and it was perfect. The eggs were cooked as ordered, the meats were very tasty and the pancakes were fluffy and wonderful. All of it was great.
What we especially liked was the service. Everyone there checked on us, including the night manager. She was very sweet. All of the staff was kind and worked together as a team to keep us happy.
We will be back.
The food:
– Bourbon Bacon Burger (9/10):
I have never tried their burgers due to the wide selection of dishes here. Well, I am glad I finally gave their burgers a try and the Bourbon Bacon Burger didn’t disappoint! The buns had a nice aroma and had a great texture. The beef patties were juicy and seasoned perfectly (perhaps not as fresh as the patties served in In-N-Out burger)! Bacon was crispy and not too salty. The vegetables were also fresh. The fries were alright, though it was nothing to write home about. But hey, it’s called a burger, the fries are just the sides.
– Country Fried Steak (9/10):
This actually tasted better than I had expected. The chicken steak was also juicy and the portion was huge. However, I enjoyed the corn in this dish a lot! The fries in the Country Fried Steak were actually better than the ones in the Bourbon Bacon Burger!
Overall, I would recommend Denny’s if you want to experience a western dine-in experience, I would actually recommend them over IHOP.
