We had an amazing lunch here today. Madison was a wonderful bartender, super friendly and informative. A great host. Lots of gluten free options including a dedicated fryer. We had oysters, corn chowder, a crab melt on a GF bun with fries and Cole slaw, and the fish and chips. All were delicious! Spicy margaritas are also recommended. Beautiful space, both indoors and out. Definitely worth the trip from Bangor.

Food was excellent, from lobster to the cheeseburger my kid had. Service was not great. From the rude hostess at the door to waiting and waiting. Staff cannot be used as an excuse because there were lots, but they spent most of the time hanging by the bar. I wouldn’t say it is priced appropriately either. Again, the food is good, the view is excellent but the service is non-existent.

Service is poor, you wouldn’t honor your happy hour special on the menu, bathroom had no soap or paper towels, and then you made excuses about teenagers not doing their job. The adult in the front of the house needs to learn how to do her job. The view is spectacular and the town of Castine is the quintessential historic town and it deserves better than this.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary. Great views and location and our server, Gianni, was fantastic. However, we were expecting so much more from the food – for the price it was mediocre at best. Don’t let the marketing fool you – this is just another wharf seafood joint that any local would avoid. The menu seemed rather limited compared to what must have been out of date menus we saw online. We had clam chowder, oysters on the half shell, lobster roll and boiled lobster. The chowder and oysters were great. However the tarragon mayo ruined the lobster roll. The corn that came with the boiled lobster was overdone and absolutely tasteless to the point it ruined the whole dish as its just lobster, fries and maybe a third of an ear of corn. Had the blueberry cobbler for dessert and it was so small it was laughable. The little ramekin it came in made it so difficult to eat without spilling what little there was all over the table. I had the chickadee mixed drink which was very good but came with a different garnish the second round which made me feel as though I missed out on the full experience of the drink the first round.

I’m still at the restaurant, sipping a beer and enjoying the flawless waterside view. Truly one of the best you will find anywhere. I mean, you are right on the water. I saw some unfortunate reviews about service. My experience suggests those problems have been resolved. My service was exceptional. Attentive, prompt, and professional. I had the crab melt—delicious and with a hint of a spicy kick, but subtle. The side of potato salad was also quite good. All in all , one of the most relaxing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

On a wonderful trip to Maine from out of state we looked forward to a meal on the water. The food was wonderful! There were 10 servers all doing different jobs. The server we got never came back to the table and didn’t offer water or remove plates or get off his phone. When management was told they said good riddance. This is not a place I would recommend on good faith that the patrons would get good service in this establishment. If he was a new server he should have been trained. Management said good riddance. They ruined my Castine dining experience.

Overall first impression was nice. Me, my wife, and my 4 daughters wanted to sit outside for a view and the weather was right. We got stuffed in a corner and they weren’t even busy. The food was pretty good. Over priced for the small portions. But it was good. Service from our particular waitress was not good. We all ate without a drink. She didn’t bother to check in with us. She didn’t even take our order. We filled out check boxes on a paper menu. Not exactly sure why there is a wait staff if they don’t interact with the guests. The girl who sat us actually served us our food. We had to find someone and ask for our check so we could pay our bill.

We had a great meal for 3 at Dennett’s. Lots of menu options. My lobster roll was the best so far during our Maine visit. The food was excellent, service was quick and the staff were super attentive. You can’t beat the views! Highly recommended!!

Decided to try despite poor service reviews but based on good food reviews. The food was sooooooo amazingly delicious! The service excellent!! The atmosphere was gorgeous! The bartender Maddy was clearly the icing on the cake. Might just go back tomorrow.
