We tried 3 pies and they were all very good. They make a thin and crisp crust. The sauce, cheese and toppings were all top notch. We ordered one pie to go and they volunteered to 3/4 bake it and leave it uncut to be finished in a home oven. Customers need to understand the high demand for these pizzas, call ahead and expect to have to wait possibly for hours. I assume they sell out daily. “Destination pizza.”

What can I say truly worth the trip? Yes! This Pizzaria is excellent really nice people working there hard-working everything is ready when they say yes it’s a long wait. It’s completely worth it. Just gotta do your timing with calling. Definitely a business that I support and I would definitely come back to great place to go and eat good pizza.

I know why it was rated best pizza , I drive 1 hour to get there and I would do it again. I went to some of the best rated pizza places, like Di Fara pizza in Brooklyn, Brooklyn Square NJ,

Been there several times prior to their Dave Portnoy visit and several times after. Pizza is still just as good then as it is now. One thing that has changed is the service, it’s an assembly line atmosphere now, all the tables are reserved, to prevent dining in. There’s no personality now! There are picnic tables outside to eat your pickup order, which you will need to order 1 hour in advance. Their pie needs to be eaten right away to have the best experience. It doesn’t travel well.

Hands down one of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten. Top 5 as of now. In all fairness I need to get back to Brooklyn and do a few more reviews there, which may bring this into a top 10, but now that’s splitting hairs. Being in a top 5 when I’ve eaten at over 1000 different pizzerias if a feat in itself from having pizza in here in NJ, Detroit, NYC, Connecticut, Boston and more. This is a must try place.

This place is way over hyped after the Portnoy visit. I grew up in Raritan and literally my entire life I never had pizza here and never knew anyone else in Raritan that ever ate pizza there. I was always curious as to how it could last there so long when nobody ever ate there. So after that knucklehead reviewed it as the greatest thing ever I thought maybe I’ve been missing out my whole life. I wasn’t. Listen to each his own and one person might think it’s the best and one person might think it’s the worst they’ve ever had. I don’t think it’s awful it’s just definitely not for me and definitely not your typical NJ pizzeria pie. In general most brick oven Pizza is overcooked as it’s very hard not to. Most of the pies I’ve seen are overcooked. But again some people like Portnoy love that so can’t knock that. But in general I just don’t think it’s a great tasting pizza. I don’t like overcooked/burnt pizza and to me the crust tasted exactly like matzo crackers. That’s just strange. I noticed that the place was finally painted after at least 50 years of not (which you can verify by other pics in reviews) being which definitely makes it look nicer on the outside but definitely is nothing special on the inside. Looks like they are trying to fix up around it as well which is nice as the place always looked like the run-down part of a city.

Clearly overrated pizza, Very oily pizza. Dave Portnoy Bar Stool missed all the oil that he complains about other places. Johns of Bleeker st, Di Faras, Lucali’s, Sally’s all better than this place. It has the old oven but its not the best. Very good pizza but not a 9 ratings. 8.6 out of 10.

Good thin crust pizza, make sure to call ahead…like hours ahead to place your order and pick up. They’re really busy on the weekends, unlike the weekdays where it’s not. Pizza was really good, nice thin crust (almost cracker-like) cheese and sauce were both flavorful. I’d say the pizza served at DeLucia’s is up there, is it worth all the hype? Get yourself a pie and find out.
