This fabulous BBQ restaurant is owned by the nicest Southern gentleman and his family. The BBQ meats are delicious alone, but they have at least 4 different yummy sauces. The sides are also important to us, and the four we tried were wonderful: coleslaw, baked beans, squash casserole, and the fabulous collard greens.

Dawg Gone Good BBQ is nothing short of its namesake. The folks are sweet, and attentive, the barbecue is DELICIOUS, hands down some of the best I’ve had, and the atmosphere is exactly what it should be; homey and charming. Pictured is the sampler platter, which is two servings of pulled pork, a chicken sausage, 2 ribs and 2 sides. This MOUNTAIN of delicious barbecue will run you $18, and my girlfriend usually goes for the pulled pork platter, which is an insanely reasonable $8 (comes with a pulled pork sandwich, 2 sides). The dessert is to die for as well, with the banana pudding and cobblers rivaling whatever you get at your grandmas. We swing by this place weekly to stuff our faces with some truly dawg gone good barbecue.

Best BBQ and Sides I’ve had since leaving Savannah home cooked BBQ joint. Delicious! Beans are unique; could have eaten a bowl full. Chicken moist, shredded well, with Carolina Gold sauce. Price is excellent for the quality of the food. Highly recommend!

The cashier was very funny and kind, the atmosphere was very pleasant as well as the food. The pulled pork was amazing and tender, the mac and cheese was very rich and perfectly cheesy, green and baked beans were sweet but still remained amazing. This place is hands down the best BBQ place I’ve ever had!

Barbecue is something I have been trying to find the perfect barbecue for more than 60 years. This place is fantastic, and I will continue to go back and buy some more. BJ brings his own recipes, style and high-quality every single time he serves a plate of food. The Atmosphere is old-school southern barbecue. The place is spotlessly clean. The folks who work there could not be more gracious and hospitable. And the recipes are all distinctive, and BJ is going to simply serve you what he likes to eat. And I love it. When I need a barbecue fix, this place works better than just fine. It’s great!

Best bbq and real southern sides I’ve had since moving to GA 2 yrs ago!! Not close to home but worth going out of my way. The tea is like Granny made. I’m born and raised southern so I know good vittles when I eat them!! The sauce was NOT out of a bottle either. Got so full I saved what was left for lunch tomorrow. Can’t wait to go back!!

Great staff. Amazing food. Affordable prices. The sweet tea was absolutely southern perfect. I can’t say enough good things about this place. They’re gonna get a lot of my money in the future.

I hunt BBQ around the US while traveling as a service technician.

When it comes to southeastern BBQ, these guys are at the top of my list, next to Archibald’s BBQ in Tuscaloosa.

The Georgia style (mustard based) bbq sauce is very good. Nice and balanced flavor.
If you get their tomato based sauce, mix in a lot of their hot bbq sauce, as the regular sauce is overly sweet (in my opinion)

Their pork is outstanding.
The pulled pork specifically was great.
A lot of pork I get east of the Mississippi river is just too wet and mushy. This place does not do that. Their pork has juice when you bite into it, but doesn’t feel sopping wet when you first touch your tongue with it.
The ribs tasted really good. Wish they had a little more bite and bark, but they were definitely moist and had flavor. Many places rely too much on their sauce to cover up the lack of flavor. I could eat this without the sauce.

The Mac was very good, had some spice to it and it definitely didn’t seem like it was store bought. Many places give you KFC style Mac that was obviously bought in bulk premade.

I gave the food a 4 out of 5 because the chicken was lacking imo and I’m not the biggest fan of kielbasa style sausage as it’s basically like a cooked hot dog. By no means is it bad, I’ve just become more critical as I have had more bbq around the country. If they give you a little more skin with the chicken, maybe a little more seasoning, and bigger chunks, and if they change out the sausage for a more American style sausage, I would easily give this place a 5.

The place is very small with about 8 little 2 person tables scattered inside. They have a small outdoor patio with room for about 8 more people. Nothing crazy about the atmosphere, just a hole in the wall bbq place with really good bbq on disposable white plate. 3 out of 5.
If you want atmosphere, you gotta go to Archibald’s in Tuscaloosa or any bbq place in texas for that “bbq pulled from the pit” experience.

I was going to give the service a 3 out of 5 as i just talked to the cashier who was behind a plastic wall and he emotionlessly asked what I wanted. but I bumped it to a 4 because it came out lightning fast. I probably waited for 2 mins max when he quickly held his arm out with my food on a disposable plate.

This place doesn’t need the atmosphere nor extremely charismatic staff if you’re just looking for quick bbq. They do good pork bbq. Nothing more, nothing less.

The mac and cheese I threw away not edible. The baked beans tasted like pork and beans with sugar out of a can but ok. The smoked sausage was delicious but very small and over cooked. I went to Burger King afterward just to fill my stomach.
