TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Tenders served on literally toast bread instead of burger bun and they had no one single fork left at the restaurant. When I asked them how am I supposed to eat my fries they just said that “sorry, we don’t have fork left” which wasn’t an answer to my question. Irresponsible employees.

I got the Dave’s #3 extra hot with cheese fries and it was SOOOO good chicken in the tender was well TENDER! It did have a hint of sweetness that threw me off a bit but other than that it was absolutely delicious! Would absolutely come again!

What a simple menu that tickles the tongue, slaps the cheeks and drips your nose. The sliders are definitely GMF (good mouth feel). The moment your teeth cuts the batter and the breast, drizzled in their creamy house sauce, rouge red spice, and gentle supple buns sloshing in your mouth as you chew slowly before your gullet receives the bolus that was your slider; that is what makes eating this so much fun. The slider was a good gradual spice increasing with every bite. Made my nose require multiple napkin wipes, spreading the chili spice around my mouth causing a warm chain reaction sensation and swelling of my lips. Don’t worry, it calms down after.

The chicken is super tasty and tender! The breading is not too thick, it’s just the right amount of crisp. I love a good hot chicken sandwich and this is one of the best I’ve had. I went with the “hot” level because I wanted to get a little bit of heat and still be able to taste the chicken… it was just perfect. One of these days I’ll try “reaper” level heat. My 9 year old got the “mild” and it still has a good heat kick for her, she loved it. The fries are tasty and the staff is super friendly. It’s not the cheapest but it’s not too expensive. I do think for the price of the meals the drinks should be included though. I will definitely be returning.

Daves Hot Chicken is soooo good!! Highest spice level i have tried is the Extra hot, but honestly regardless of whatever spice level you decide to go with, i can guarantee you it will always taste yummy and you will walk out satisfied. Everything from the fries, mac n cheese, pickles, and their bomb sauce. It never fails to make my belly happy. It is a little pricey but so worth it and is also very filling, so order on an empty stomach haha

Great casual spicy chicken place. We got the slider and tender at medium spice level. It came with fries, pickles and extra mayo sauce. The chicken was moist and the spice level was not too bad. They also gave us plenty of fries as you can see. This place has good price and plenty of place to hang out. I recommend.

One of the best chicken sandwich spots in town and at fantastic price point. A friend from SD recommended i try this place and it was well worth it. Loved the costumization options as well as the heat level. I ordered the slider/tender combo and it was great. The “slider” is the size of a normal burger just an fyi. The chicken is soooo juicy and flavorful. Great experience overall. Will be back 100%

Altho this place is basically copying Raising Canes Chicken Fingers (Dave’s sauce is literally canes sauce but slightly less good) it’s still really good! Imagine if canes had different levels of spicy chicken plus macaroni! Then that’s it! The fries also have a seasoning on them that canes doesn’t have. That’s the best way to describe this place is Raising Cane’s 2.0 haha! It’s still good tho! I just wish the sauce was a little more original!
