Dat Jerk Lansdowne

  4.2 – 90 reviews   • Caribbean restaurant

Original Jerk is a Process. It’s not just jerk sauce. It’s all in how you cook it. How you add different elements to create that Jamaican jerk flavor of being slowly cooked over pimento wood. Dat Jerk uses our unique process to prepare our homemade jerk sauce, that’s slowly rubbed into our signature chicken and pork, then smoked to perfection. Creating jerk flavors that will send your taste buds buzzing.

We’ve gotten carryout from here a few times but this day we dined in. I’ve always loved the food here. I can’t get away from their oxtails!! SO D*MN GOOD!! Huge portions that easily make 2 meals. And don’t forget to get a couple of beef patties! I wonder if I’m secretly Jamaican…

The food was good, the normal island flavor to satisfy your taste buds. Few things to enjoy. Big glass protector, that way you can see food as your plate is being made. Menu is pretty straightforward. All island drink is on display. Overall, a 4.0

The latest new restaurant I’ve tried is Dat Jerk. Terrific place. Delicious food (I ordered the curry chicken, it’s a must get! Don’t forget the Coco bread!). Friendly staff. Clean dining area and bathrooms (extra star for that)! They play reggae music which really gets you in the mood to eat here. Absolutely will come back when in the area. Hopefully they open one in Bel Air!

This place is fire. We came 30 minutes before close and all the food is still fresh. It is 10 minutes before close and they are waving people down to come inside. . . . This oxtails are tender, the mac and cheese was cheesy and baked well . . . The rice and peas were cooked right as well. The jerk chicken has that charcoal/ fire flavor, spicy and you can see they make their own marinade. . . . They also dont skimp on the gravy. Great addition to this neighborhood. I will DEFINATELY be coming back.

So me and some coworkers have been waiting all week to try Dat Jerk in Lansdowne. We placed our orders online at 1145 for a 1300 pickup. BUT I recommend to NOT do that. When I got there at 12:55 my order was already bagged up sitting on the cart for pickup. Didn’t think anything thought it was probably just put there. I had 2 more orders that the girl told me she had to make still. Once I got back to my job which is only 5 min away my food was cold. Not even warm. I got a jerk chicken salad with a side of steamed veggies ( was cabbage) didn’t know that but also I chose fries as my 2nd side for someone else. Fries were cold. My food had a great taste but the cheese on my salad was stuck in a hard ball it had melted under my chicken 🙁 The other order was oxtail which my coworker said was just ok. The other order was salmon and beans with rice she said salmon was over cooked but sauce was great and beans were undercooked , they were hard. The restaurant was very clean but was a set up similar to chipotle where they scoop to order. Next time I would maybe go and get it when we’re ready. But hopefully the food would be cooked better oh and forgot MAC N CHEESE was bad it did not look like the pic on line. So overall not great but not that terrible. We spent about $65 for 4 meals. Hope this is helpful I do have one pic to post of mine which was salad

Purchased food today. It was lukewarm, and I had to reheat at home. The meatloaf was tasty, as were the plantains. There may be 1/4 cup of cabbage. It was a little harder than I like. Spouse has jerk chicken and jerk chicken also pretty good.
