Atmosphere & Vibe
• Authentic Irish Pub: The pub is praised for its traditional, warm, brick-walled interior, dark green walls, and decor that evokes a sense of history, including a “Guinness for Strength” mural.
• Social Hub: It’s considered a social hub with a lively, festive, and high-energy environment, which some reviews refer to as having great craic (Gaelic for “good times”).
• Layout: The pub features two main areas: a front room that is sometimes described as a bit younger/rougher and includes pool tables/billiards, and a second bar/dining area.
• Events: It is known for hosting traditional live Irish music and dancing, often on Thursday evenings.
Food & Drink
• Traditional Fare: Many patrons appreciate the traditional Irish meals and pub favorites. The menu offers a classic selection including:
• Irish Specialties: Options like Bangers & Mash, Shepherd’s Pie, Irish Stew, and Corned Beef and Cabbage (though one review noted the latter may not be made in a strictly traditional style).
• Pub Favorites: Dishes like Fish and Chips and Onion Rings receive specific praise (some calling the onion rings “amazing”).
• Beverages: The pub is well-regarded for its selection of Irish brews, including being a purveyor of Guinness, and a wide array of Irish whiskeys. They also offer a full bar with cocktails and mules.
• Happy Hour: They offer a happy hour on weekdays from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM with deals on drinks and appetizers.
General Experience
• Service: Service is generally described as attentive and hospitable.
• Location: The pub is conveniently located, even noted as being easily accessible from a nearby Tesla Supercharging station.
• Late Night: Some recent comments, particularly on online forums, suggest the late-night bar scene can be “sketchy” or “rougher” and is not for everyone. However, others report consistently positive experiences. Patrons who prefer a quieter time often visit during happy hour or for dinner.
Dargan’s is a solid choice for those looking for an authentic Irish pub experience, traditional food, and a good pint, particularly earlier in the evening.

Fun atmosphere. Music playing with big screen tvs playing sports and music videos. Not to loud not to talk and have a good time.
You can rent the billboard tables by the hour. It’s a great deal to spend time together, $12 an hour.
We just got the popcorn shrimp while shooting pool. It was hot and delicious.

Dargan’s has become our go-to hangout while we’re waiting to supercharge our Tesla in Santa Barbara. It’s super convenient, just downstairs from the charging station and the vibe is always laid-back.

We usually swing by right when they open, and it’s nice and quiet. Perfect spot to grab a drink, share some appetizers, and even catch up on a bit of work if needed.

Huge shoutout to our favorite bartender, Shane he’s always so nice and accommodating, and really makes the place feel welcoming every time we stop by.

Solid food, chill atmosphere, and great service. Definitely a hidden gem for EV drivers looking to recharge both their cars and themselves.

We went for St.Paddy’s Day hoping for some Irish music. There wasn’t any. It was SUPER LOUD!! Even shouting to each other it was impossible to hear. The music was fun to sing along with and the people watching was amazing. The Fish and Chips were good. Huge portions. I don’t know how the waitstaff could hear anything, but we all got what we wanted.
It was fun to see how people dressed too. It was absolutely freezing that night, and the wind was blowing hard, and most of the women were dressed super scantily. In things you’d wear to the beach. Guys were in jeans and sweaters. Lol

Great food and drinks! They have several Irish beers on tap as well as authentic Irish and British cuisine like fish n chips, bangers & mash, and meat pies. The pub has a bar area with pool tables as well as a quieter restaurant area where you can enjoy a sit down meal. Prices are reasonable and service is good.

We were in town visiting and we had the best time. The bartender was great. The patrons were so friendly. Thank you for being so kind to out of towners. Great impression on us by the locals.

Terrific downtown Irish pub. The lunch is fantastic and can’t wait to return for a game of pool in the evening. Add this place to your list of Santa Barbara stops.

We brought my mother-in-law for lunch. She is English and we were relieved that she enjoyed the food. The food was hearty and we were very full. It’s a very spacious and clean pub. They also had outdoor dining. We had very good service.

We went here to hang out and have a good time on New Year’s eve but Sarah the main bartender was so rude and has the worst attitude. Not only towards her own coworkers but customers as well. It threw off the atmosphere and really made us uncomfortable. avoid her if you can.
