Amazing amazing restaurant. Probably one of the best places I’ve tried in Manhattan. Super high quality ingredients that you can taste. The service was also amazing. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend the fish and chips, the squid & scallion skewers, and the tuna tartare. I also especially enjoyed the sourdough and butter. Really beautiful place to enjoy a meal! Will definitely be coming again!

We’ve had the opportunity to eat here twice and loved both times. The fish and chips are a must, the breading on the fish is ethereally light and crispy. Other dishes are perfectly prepared with bright flavors that complement the seafood. Get whatever version of tuna is on the menu and don’t skip dessert. The strawberry trifle with black peppercorn meringue haunts my dreams.

My wife and I were able to get a Friday evening reservation, sitting at the counter and getting to enjoy the view of the (very) compact kitchen during our meal. After starting with martinis from the bar, we worked our way through the menu with some assistance from our helpful server. We started with the oysters, and continued with the squid and scallion skewers and raw scallops with peas and arugula. We split the famous fish and chips and the tuna tartare for our mains. Everything was incredibly fresh, delicious, and meticulously prepared. While certainly not cheap, we felt we received great value for the quality and enjoyment from our dishes. Service was friendly, helpful, and happy to share their knowledge of both the food menu and unique wine list. A++

Good experience overall. The menu is small with all seafood items. We got a variety of smaller and bigger dishes, and they were all delicious. However service did become slower as it got busier, as there is only one chef and a sous chef working in the very small open kitchen. As a result we waited a long time for our entrees. But the monkfish was very delicious and their signature fish and chips was extremely well made – the batter was thin and crispy, and fish inside was tender and moist. But I do not recommend their desserts. We ordered both items on the menu and both were very bad. Loaded with cream and really nothing more than that. It got too sweet and heavy after 2 bites.

tldr, probably the best food I’ve had in NYC. The seafood was amazing. From the tuna on toast to the mussels and the clams and the oysters and the whitefish croquettes. The fish and chips are awesome as well, probably the best I’ve had. Really great place and would certainly go back.

Is Dame the best fish and chips in the city? Most likely so. The batter is awe-inducing. How did they get it so lacy, airy, and crispy? It’s a marvel of technique.

This is simple, you just have to come eat at Dame if you can snag a reservation (just be online at 12 on Resy 3 weeks in advance and you should be good!!). The food is divine. The setting is cool and funky (loved the disco music being played all night long). All dishes are so flavourful. The wine list is diverse and delicious and the sommelier will be able to make great recommendations. The menu is short, dishes seem simple but are amazingly flavourful and will rock your tastebuds. We absolutely loved our visit and it was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday from out of town. We really enjoyed all dishes that we ordered, and the whole dover sole was simply amazing, the tuna tartare toast was divine, the oysters were to die for, and no one in our party of four agreed on what dish was the common favourite!! The sticky toffee pudding was also so flavourful and deliciously sticky (and the portion is quite big, we comfortably shared this dessert amongst 4 people!). This place is simply amazing, also while being unpretentious and fun, which was the exact vibe we were looking for. Please come eat at Dame, you will not regret it!!!

Great vibes and place for drinks, overly priced though imo. I’d say the food is good but a bit too greasy, portions also very small and left my friends hungry. I think fish was cooked well with a nice beurre blanc sauce and endives, but again, I don’t think it’s work $90 for the technique and portion size.
