I ordered the fried spring rolls (Cha Gio) and an order of Grilled Pork Noddle Bowl (Bun Thit Nuong, Heo). Both were delicious and very authentic in their flavor profiles and ingredients used. This was not a westernized version of Vietnamese food. The spring rolls were loaded with pork and crab and came with an assortment of herbs. Many places will only give you basil, not here. The pork bowl was generous, and the meat seasoned and grilled nicely.
Staff and service were friendly and efficient respectively.
There are a few booths, but the majority of the seating is long, low-top tables. There is a karaoke set up, but it was not in use during lunch service. There was music playing and videos projected on a large screen. It was very much what I would expect at a bar or restaurant in Southeast Asia.
If you’re looking for dumbed down, westernized food, this might not be for you. If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Vietnamese cuisine, check it out.
Phở Đặc Biệt: More on the lighter side in terms of the flavor of the broth. I did however enjoy that the noodles were cooked perfectly with a little bit of chew and appreciated the abundance of meat!
Gà Chiên Nước Mắm (chicken wings): These were perfectly fried! Had such a nice crisp on the outside and still remained juicy. The sauce coating was nicely balanced and not over-salted, but still bursting with umami flavors from the fish sauce.
Vietnamese coffee: definitely more palatable for the demographic, but still a strong coffee and sweet and condensed milk presence. As a Viet person, I would like it a little stronger.
Avocado smoothie: our new go-to place! It’s been hard to find a good avocado Viet smoothie, but this place uses real avocados that you can actually taste and does not drown it in milk and ice.
Ordered the spring rolls and a bowl of pho. It hit the spot – the beef was very tender. They were nice enough to offer a free dessert (I believe it was Vietnamese sweet corn soup) afterwards to celebrate their recent grand opening. Everything was flavorful and tasty. I will definitely be returning!
We had hotpot, shaken beef and clams. Highly recommend them all
Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes
