Everyone here was so nice! When you first walk in, you get that wonderful smokey smell. They had 4 sauces at the table to choose from. Sweet, east Carolina, hot, and mild. Along with ketchup and Texas Pete!
The pork was shredded and left in longer shreds. I loved it! It wasted good by itself, but I am a guy who loves vinegar based sauce, so I added that to it. The sausage was my favorite part of the plate! It had great flavor to it. It was a nice course grind. Nothing too chunky, though. You can see the seasoning and stuff in it! The collards were all I wanted them to be as well. They were cooked perfectly. Nice and tender with a good bit of vinegar. The hushpuppies were nice and crispy. The outside almost reminded me of the way the sugar Chinese doughnuts taste, lol. I love good hushpuppies. I can’t get enough handcut fries, so you can’t go wrong there. The burnt ends were sweet, smokey, and cooked to perfection. The baked beans had the same sauce on them as the burnt ends. They were sweet and they were better than I expected. They were probably the best baked beans I have ever had.
You should 100% make the drive out to Fuquay-Varina for this.
The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and cooked just right — not too soft, not too firm — with a flavor that hugged your soul. The hush puppies added a delightful contrast with their light, sweet crunch that had us reaching for more. And those fries? Sure, they were on the thinner side, but they stayed crispy and full of flavor even after the drive home — a rare feat!
Portions were generous, presentation was solid, and everything tasted freshly made with love. You can tell this place takes pride in doing BBQ the right way.
Hands down, this is the best BBQ spot in Fuquay — possibly the entire Triangle. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is one of those rare must-try joints that will have you planning your next visit before you even finish your plate.
We’ll 100% be back — and next time, we’re bringing friends.
We loved the brisket, collard greens and hush puppies. Plus an honorable mention to the banana pudding. Sweet Tea is perfectly brewed.
I got my usual baked beans (not much brisket added here) and pasta salad.
The burnt ends were a little firm for my taste.
But shout out to Miss Janice who we hear makes the sides. We loved the collards and especially the pot liquor. You did your thang!
I’m coming back to pick up a plate for Christmas. Ordered a single plate. Had brisket, collards, green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, side salad, hush puppies and chocolate chess pie for $25.
Best to eat in.
Here we go again! Look at these to go ribs!!!
