Masthugget – Daawat
Daawat – Masthugget in Gothenburg – Restaurant Reviews, Menu …
Reviews
– chicken biryani – BLAND – chicken had no flavour, rice was aromatic and quantity is good for one person.
– mutton rogan e kashmir – OKish – 5-6 medium size mutton pieces enough for one person, well cooked and gravy was good.
– murg madras – Good – chicken over cooked had no flavour , gravy is coconut based its good.
– balti e murg lahori – BAD – neither the gravy nor the chicken. Its damn red color gravy tastes like mixture of tomato sauce and bell peppers and over cooked chicken again!! Felt like no one orders this dish and for the first time the chef had to cook something new so they just came up with whatever they could do!!
– tandoori roti – Good- I prefer this to naan now!! Its tasted like crispy poori or paratha!!
– tandoori naan – OKish – soft
– garlic tandoori naan – Better than normal naan.
The dishes are good but it used to be better before!! atleast had more resemblance to indian flavours which was missing this time.
This time i felt there is no difference between this place and other Indian restaurants out there!!
Waiting period for getting food was unusually late. I would brush it off blaming the peak hours.
The place gets crowded by 6pm in the evening, I was told If you have not made prior reservations its difficult to get a table (While i totally agree with the idea of booking a table prior if i am certain about it)
-Strangely enough, There were no “reserved” tags on any table!!
– Yet most of the people who came after me were also told similar things
– still all of them were accommodated and very soon the restaurant was full.
– I wondered how would they accommodate people who have booked a table!! Thats not my problem though.
I got a table, ate my food and came back!!
And the taste? Absolutely indescribable! It’s as if you’re eating a meal lovingly prepared by your Indian mother. Every bite is filled with warmth and care.
You can truly feel that the food was cooked with love and happiness. The spices, the flavors—they all speak of passion and authenticity. The background music transports you straight into the heart of India, immersing you completely in the atmosphere.
Honestly, after this experience, I’m seriously considering moving from Norway just to live next door to this restaurant so I can enjoy this joy again and again—thousands of times over!
This is a place you simply can’t miss. It’s worth visiting over and over again. ️❤️
The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels relaxed and genuine. If you’re looking for proper Indian food in Gothenburg without paying for fine dining, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended, we’ll be back for sure!
