Coming from a Jamaican family, I was very disappointed with the food from this restaurant. Honestly, mi heart hurt. I ordered a curry goat and oxtail combo, and unfortunately, there was more bone than meat. Wah gwaan with that? I only received one piece of plantain, and the presentation was not up to standard, especially for almost $40. If you are charging premium prices, the food should be prepared with care and pride. You haffi put love inna di food. I had much more rice than meat. The mac and cheese was very oily and lacked flavor. It never taste right at all. I also ordered rasta pasta, and it tasted burnt. Again, there were more bones than actual chicken. Dat nah mek sense. The coco bread was nice, soft, and fresh, but no patty. That was disappointing. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. If I am spending close to $80, I expect the food to taste good and be made with pride. Right now, it feel like pure disappointment. I would not even feel comfortable serving this to my mother. It would honestly break her heart.

So this was my first time here. Seen it as we were driving pass. It was ok. The rice (both white and with beans) were like not all the way done, but done enough to eat. The portions are stardard. There isnt no medium or large plate. Which I am not use to. Cabbage was decent. Overall I believe it couldve been alot better. Oh I had Jerk chicken & my friend had the goat and she said it was nice and tender. But portions not worth the price. Couldve used more gravy and they didnt have no cocobread. The Green Zing drink was 5 out of 5.

Brown chicken lunch special! Has plenty of flavor very good. Do not expect a big plate as it comes in the small box but packed for the lunch special but it might be enough would only be better if it came with small salad. Good take out Jamaican joint not bad for the lunch special price. Enjoy

The young lady at the register was so sweet and knowledgeable. The food was good, but I guess I expected a little bit different taste. I have so many different jerk restaurant that I regularly ate at when living in southern Virginia and Atlanta that I find i have higher standards. Oxtail were good, jerk was a little bland though.

I ordered my food in advance at 8:04pm, order was scheduled for pick up in 20 minutes. I arrived at 8:30pm and was told that the order was just received and I would have to wait 25 more minutes. I was also told with a defensive attitude that there are no more fries and I would have to choose from Mac and cheese or chicken patty. At this time the attendant was occupied by her minor children who were in the establishment. So I wait more than 25 more minutes for my food just to get home and my food was trash!!! I ordered Rasta pasta with salmon. The pasta was very over cooked and looked like slop. Very hot in flavor and the salmon still had the skin on it. I can actually tell that the salmon was previously frozen. The meal was terrible, service was terrible. This was my first time here and will definitely be my last.

Pros: Service was good. Food was hot, flavored and was ready quickly.

Cons: Food portion was not worth the cost. Oxtail plate was $25. Only came with 3 maybe 4 pieces of oxtail. Most of the plate was rice and cabbage. Jerk chicken platter was mediocre for $17. I should’ve looked at my plate before I left. The first pic is the oxtail. The 2nd is the Jerk chicken.

Da Jerk House: Oxtail Revelation!

Yesterday, a spontaneous detour led me to Da Jerk House, a spot I’d passed countless times. Let me tell you, that detour was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while. I went in with a simple hunger, and walked out a devoted fan.

Let’s talk about the oxtails. Oh. My. Goodness. Tender, flavorful, fall-off-the-bone oxtails that were clearly cooked with love and expertise. They were the star of the show, and rightfully so. But the supporting cast was equally impressive. The rice and peas were perfectly cooked, fluffy and seasoned just right. The cabbage was fresh and vibrant, a delightful counterpoint to the richness of the oxtails. And the sweet plantains? Caramelized perfection.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh. You could tell that the ingredients were high quality and that the food was prepared with care. This wasn’t just a quick meal; it was a culinary experience.

Beyond the incredible food, the customer service was truly exceptional. The ladies working there were warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to serve. They made me feel like a regular, even on my first visit. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and it made the entire experience even more enjoyable.

And let’s not forget the portions! For a very reasonable price, I received a generous amount of food. I left feeling completely satisfied, and with enough leftovers for another delicious meal.

Da Jerk House has earned a loyal customer in me. I’m already planning my next visit, and I’m bringing reinforcements! If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful Caribbean food with outstanding customer service, look no further.

Da Jerk House is a must-try.
