Pretty sure by the time I click ‘Post Review’ this place will be permanently closed. Had dinner here in-house an evening around 5 pm. We walked into the empty place, with empty showcases and shelves. We spoke to a young woman who said they were out of chickpeas and a couple dishes we wanted to try. Being out of chickpeas is like a beach running out of sand. Still wanted to try the place.

Ten out of Ten for this delicious honest-to-goodness Pakistan-Afghan down home style eatery where the food is great! Succulent expertly grilled chucks of chicken tikka on skewers is put in a rich Masala sauce for you, Beautifully scented Basmati rice melts on the tongue, fresh buttery garlic nan bread arrives all hot and crispy, and don’t miss the chana masala (chick peas) in a rich hot delicious sauce. We loved the fresh chicken shish kebab, too, and the hot black tea with sugar. Proprietors Mohammed Waheed & Begum Saadia are engaging, well travelled, warm, welcoming, hospitable, and very charming. They’re kind and laid back and on the night my husband and I visited to collect our food their phone didn’t stop ringing with delivery orders. Meeting this beautiful couple and one of their 7 children, and chatting in their relaxed restaurant with them was a treat on this wet snowy February evening. They made time to chat with us and we left feeling like family. We love this family oriented place, it offers great authentic food at good prices, the spices and cooking style is Afghan and Pakistan with a large selection of side dishes. The Basmati rice was delicately scented with cloves. The fresh green chopped coriander on the garlic nans made them look and taste beautiful. This place is no-frills with good honest cooking and great tasty food served for quickness on paper plates with plastic spoons – just as it is in Lahore, Kabul, and London where I’m from. Don’t visit and expect this restaurant to have fancy china plates or plasticcy anonymous looking staff in uniforms, or a neat and tidy franchise feel or appearance. Expect instead plain looking tables and chairs for diners to eat at, a chilled drinks cabinet, a tv showing news stations from all around the world, a couple of pot plants, and nothing else but a window cut into the wall through which you can watch this couple cooking the best food! Sir Mohammed Waheed and Begum Saadia thank you for keeping it real, we thank you for your 1st class hospitality and kindness to us and will be honored to return to you soon.

Food was really good so I gave it three stars for the food. It was very authentic. They were very friendly and helpful and take pride in their food. They lose one star for cleanliness as everything here looked like it needed some scrubbing. They lose another star for prices. It cost us about fifty dollars for lunch for two here and we were served on plastic plates. Way to high. We have another authentic Indian restaurant we visit in another town that is full service with liwwr prices. It’s to bad because the food was really good.

Ordered lunch to-go. Yellow Curry Chicken, Matar Paneer, garlic Naan and a samosa. Restaurant itself was uninviting. Food was very oily, did not come with rice. Wouldn’t go back.

Curry was water and oil, lamb stringy like it had been on warmer for hours. Lassi was more sugar water than mango and yogurt. No rice came with the meal. I had to use force to pull the nan apart. Wasted almost $90. Won’t do it again.

This a self serve restaurant. The day I visit was a Wednesday at about 7.30 pm, I were the only customer. I ordered lamb biriyani which is not that good.

Good food very sheisty on the pricing. A sign on the door next to the menu says theres updated menus inside with different prices. Inside Im directed to a menu which I can tell is different, missing an item and an extra dollar on a few items. I obviously assume this is the updated menu and the waitress dismissively mentions a few changes, all I hear is that a few prices changed a dollar. But then my food was six dollars more than the menu said and this time another waitress responds abruptly and points to an entirely different menu behind the register, scribbled on a white board and barely legible, once she already brought my food out. I also received the wrong item…

One of my favorite restaurants in Keene, and most authentic and delicious Indian cuisine around the area! Love all the vegetarian dishes!
