Came to this restaurant the first time over 40 years ago. Ordered steak with pasta. Pasta arrived cold and steak was medium well even though I ordered it medium rare. Waitress replaced it to go. Next day I found the replacement was also medium well.

So good! The trouble with this place is deciding what to order, so many selections and everything looks so good on the menu. Service from the hostess desk to the waitresses to the busboy was excellent. My creamy buttery garlicky shells (I can’t remember the name of the dish!) was fantastic and even better the next day since I had so much left over because it was huge. I’m currently living in Arizona and we have nothing like The Hill and authentic Italian food such as you would find on The Hill. I guess I’ll have to wait till I come back!

This is the real deal. Cunetto’s is the definition of “On the Hill” dining. If you’re visiting St. Louis you better not return to your home without first eating at Cunetto’s because somebody will ask if you went to this great eatery. Don’t be embarrassed. Go there! Greater St. Louisians that have not been there and are reading this should be ashamed. You’ve sinned. The only thing I can say is to find a priest. Many churches nearby to hear your confession.

Not a good experience this time around Had been here several times and was excited to go with the family to celebrate a combination of 5 birthdays There were 12 of us 6 adults and 6 children We had several problems with our orders First off in one of our waters was a cockroach a smaller one submerged low in the glass under the ice The busboy and waitress agreed it was disgusting The busboy quickly replaced it with a glass of water that did not have a roach in it The waitress mentioned at the time that the manager would come and talk to us later Meanwhile 2 of us waited 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee 2 of the group are gluten free (allergic) and gluten free pasta was discussed When the salads came out there were croutons in it I mean geez the 2 people who ordered steaks medium got them well done, rubbery, and one came with some kind of hair It I could nit pick the whole evening on and on A few of us ordered dessert even Getting ready to tab out a man in a striped shirt with a cook’s hat on asked how everything was I said “well…” The waitress pulled him aside and filled out the list of grievences and he looked at us and said ” I’m sorry” and abruptly left the table and is with a $420+tip bill I heard the hairy steak was comped No manager came and talked to us
I’m talking to you manager My whole group was discreet about our grievences We could all have gotten up and left, made a scene or any number of things you see happen in public places these days I feel like our attitude about the whole situation was MORE than reasonable I’m sure Jessica will remember us and agree So keep that $500 man you’ll never see me or my family again That whole meal should have been drastically reduced if not completely comped No way to keep existing patrons nor attract new ones
Two thumbs down

I will start by saying WOW! I have now found my new favorite Italian restaurant. Not only is the food outstanding and loaded with flavor but the helpings are huge. Service was excellent and they brought out warm bread too.
They opened at 4 pm and there was already a long line. Every single person in our party was completely satisfied with their meal. The Minestrone soup may be quite possibly the best I have ever eaten. The key to the meals here are the perfect combination and balance of flavors. They have perfected the Italian meal over here in the USA.
Next time I am in St. Louis I will be visiting this restaurant again! YUM!

Perhaps I was nostalgic for the past. I used to sing praises of Cunettos- Cozy italian restaurant, a Hill neighborhood classic donning it’s holiday decor. Seeing as we hadn’t been since pre-covid times, it was time to revisit an old Christmas time classic. We were in a line of probably 30 ppl waiting for the doors to open on a blustery 20* Saturday evening. So get there early or plan for a wait (no reservations)
Being a while since we last visited, the menu has since changed, there are fewer options. As luck would have it, the menu item I liked is no longer. Our pastas were mid at best. Both of the options we chose were bland and soupy. The food did come out in a timely fashion though.
To note, half of the restaurant capacity is blocked off, which is something to keep in mind if you’re hoping to visit during a peak time. The service was slow due to the fact that there’s 3 maybe 4 servers and two bussers running the whole restaurant and hosting large parties. You could tell they were trying hard but seemed understaffed.
This experience felt a bit like a cafeteria on a downward slide. The icing on the cake was going to refill my kids water cup and finding a bug in it… The likelihood of us revisiting this is slim to none.

Omggg pasta and service was amazing owner came out talked to us and other tables making sure we were enjoying everything. The food, amazing! My husband and I wanted to try a different Italian spot on the Hill, not disappointed at all, wish we knew about them sooner! His Chicken Parmesiano was tender and perfectly made my Seafood pasta ,even after I had them make the broth that it comes with a creamy garlic sauce instead
.OMG. top tier and soo much I was eating for 3 days! We will be back asap! Will bring the family next time!

Wish it was as good as it use to be. My last two visits were mid, and others have said the same. I hope they step it back up. This is a stl Gem. Service was great

What a fantastic place to have a nice dinner! This place is a classic! It’s been here for many years, and there’s a reason for that! Quality Italian food, you’re in a nice restaurant, with incredible food, and great service! If you’re looking to have dinner with a date, this is absolutely the place to go! The steak, covered in bread crumbs (I can’t remember the name), the pasta we had, everything was delicious!
