Reviews
The shrimp and grits, crab croquettes and deep fried pound cake were heavenly. Loved the crispy crust on the cake. Croquettes were also filled with quite a bit of crab. Portion sizes here were just massive.
Also surprised by the massive selection of pastry stouts on the menu. I love these but struggle to find them where I’m at despite some of these breweries being closer to me than Savannah.
I also liked how the rustic feel of the place with artifacts from history hung all over the walls.
Not a place I would visit often for my own health, but man was the food good.
We had to wait a bit longer than usual, and the portions seemed a little smaller than we remembered. However, despite that, it’s still a great restaurant to stop by for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere and quality of the food keep us coming back.
We’ll definitely visit again!
I highly recommend the fried oysters—they were so fresh I practically devoured the whole plate—and the onion rings were perfectly crispy and tasty.
The atmosphere is wonderfully nostalgic, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. It’s the perfect spot for a reliable, satisfying meal in a great setting.
Fried Oysters: 10/10 – THE best I’ve had in years. And a big portion
Flounder Ruben: 8/10 – light flakey and tasty.
Red Rice: 9/10 – so so so good.
Home made chips: 7/10 – simple but fresh. I recommend some old bay to kick them up a notch.
Collards greens: 9/10 – perfectly cooked and piping hot.
Peach Cobbler : 8/10 – a Dutch crumble topping and full of peaches. Not canned peaches either. Served with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Old Fashioned: 10/10 – THE BEST I’ve had in a long time. Sean the bartender is great!
Atmosphere: 7/10 – could use a little make over to freshen up the old world vibe
Parking: hard to find, but there is a big lot way in the back
