The menu includes breakfast, lunch and dinner options with such items as fresh biscuits, pancakes, meatloaf, country fries steak and fried chicken. I had a hashbrown casserole that looked like it would be much higher and bigger than it was but it was still delicious. The pancakes taste like no other with slightly crisp edges and are served with maple syrup.
In the front there is a large store area with various items such as home decor, clothing, seasonal items, candies and toys. It is always worth it to take the time to browse a bit.
The decor is country style with wooden furniture, a fireplace and a peg game to play at the table. The establishment looked clean. The workers were polite and friendly.
Service was as usual amazing. The guy was so patient and pleasant and always had a smile while talking to us and engaged in small talks and pleasant exchanges. I hate to think, but is it just this location where the food quality was bad?
CB, you specialize in chicken so just have the best quality one can ever find. It’s simple. Don’t try to cut corners and make money. You will make money if you keep high standards and anything else is just an illusion and greed.
We love visiting CB in some distant unknown town on our way to somewhere and we love it especially during a winter evening and if there is a mild snow storm (there is an oxymoron for you) , even better. I love the atmosphere in the CB during winter. It kind of transports you back in time.
Anyways, our loyalty hasnt diminished , just our disappointment has no bounds due to the recent experience. I hope someone at CB reads this and takes my feedback about the quality of food into consideration and works on it. Thank you
For lunch I had the chicken and dumplings and my wife had a grilled chicken salad. Both were excellent. The server we had who’s name I unfortunately don’t remember was excellent. We’ve been here before and will continue to return. Highly recommend.
We come here every spring. I think I actually enjoy Cracker Barrel more because it seems to be tradition, rather than for the food it offers.
In 2025 I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken. Which is basically the same thing as the Homestyle Chicken, it just has gravy on it. I remember the chicken being better, but generally most boneless breaded chicken fillets work well with me. The mashed potatoes were unenjoyable. They’re mashed, but my batch had been chilled and then barely reheated. The fried apples weren’t as great as I remembered either. To the contrary the broccoli was done perfectly.
*noted in my older review that I had a sugar glazed ham in my Sampler Plate. On the current menu the ham is no longer a selectable option for that.
Our server was a younger lady who did a nice job and said all the right things, but I could tell from her body language that she just wanted to be left alone. I can certainly understand that.
We always spend some time in the attached shoppe. It’s a nice place to browse, but it’s all overpriced and nothing really worth buying.

Original review from 2021
I ordered the Sampler plate which came with Sugar Glazed Ham, Meatloaf and Chicken and Dumplings. All entrees were acceptable in terms of taste and quality, but nothing terribly special. The plate also came with 3 side dishes which I did think was generous but like the main course, nothing here was terribly special either.
Service here was above average and I did like wandering around their attached shoppe. The southern theme was cool and the rocking chairs were a nice touch as well. I would return to a CB if the time and place were there.
