The hostess sat me across from the lit fireplace. The best seat!
Loved the turkey dinner and yummy pumpkin pie!
Im glad they kept the old logo !
– The Barrel Cheeseburger – $12: Huge! Great Value. Ordered medium and it was cooked medium. The patty was medium thickness and a larger diameter. I’d say it was 1/3 lb. It was medium quality. The cheese was melted, but being colby had a little more of a bitter bite than American (which I am used to), but still plenty good. The buttered-top bun was a little moist on the bottom. The toppings were good, but the lettuce a tad wilted. The burger was assembled a bit sloppily, but still together.
Overall, it was good and I’d gladly pay the price for how big it was. It was still well within my expectations for the price. It was hearty and delicious.
– Fries (comes with the burger): Very thick cut. It actually needed a little more salt, but not too bad. I ate half before the burger and the other half of the fries after the burger were still plenty warm. They were a little softer than normal (common with these type) and delicious.
– Meatloaf – $13.29: My friend ordered it with potatoes and gravy, biscuits (not pictured), and apples. I have it pictured. It was good and better than comparable restaurants in the area.
– Service: You are seated by someone at the front desk. They take your name and seat you after a table is available as indicated on their computer. Everything was made as ordered and arrived in about the amount of time you’d expect for how busy it was. The server was not overbearing at all and yet still helpful and very kind. Our water was filled regularly.
– Atmosphere: Old school farm feel with some commercial feel to it. Wood tables and wood chairs. You feel like you are visiting grandma out in the country.
– Conclusion: I’d go back. Their burger is pretty good, but an even better value.
Visited on a Friday at 2pm.
The decor has the feel of great-grandma’s cheery kitchen with a real fire in the big open fireplace.
The country store attached is well-stocked with unique and fun things of all kinds…from clothes to candy that some of us older folks remember having.
What a fun place to dine out!
This visit, I ended up getting dinner, but normally I get breakfast no matter what time of day (yes- breakfast is available all day). It was all good.
My friend and I ordered ice tea, and I got a house salad. My friend ordered the Wednesday special: BROCCOLI CHEDDAR CHICKEN (Oven-baked Broccoli Cheddar Chicken. Served with choice of two Country Sides- he got capers and corn bread). He said everything was great.
I had girl dinner lol! Sides of man n cheese, broccoli and coleslaw. Nothing special, but all good, and I finished all of it.
Basically, if you like Cracker Barrel, you’ll like this location. Everything is exactly as expected, including the food, service and quality of the store.
