My wife and I decided to have dinner at Luminosa, as it was recommended by close friends and even a couple of our coworkers. From the hostess to the food runners and bussers, all of the staff were so pleasant and welcoming. Porter gave us phenomenal service! We would like to emphasize that we were pleased with the portion sizes of pastas, entrees, sides and desserts! I didn’t think to snap photos of all of the things we had, but here’s a couple of pics I did snap. Feels good to be recognized and treated as locals in our bustling community.

Went here tonight with my bf for my birthday dinner,,,I WAS ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY!!! Not only was everything we tried absolutely DELICIOUS!! but the service was also top notch!! Our waitress in particular, Christina, made the experience!! She was so well informed of the menu and their operations and suppliers, and she was helpful in deciding menu options (again, first timers). She made my birthday extra special and I will never forget this experience!!

Luminosa is a must visit if you’re in Asheville. The first thing we noticed was how unique the interior is given that it’s inside the flatiron building and we were lucky enough to be sat in the furthest away front room which felt private and cozy. Our server, Jamie, was so knowledgeable, passionate and fun; he really enhanced the whole experience. The food was stellar and their approach to sustainability and quality is evident even without their Green Michelin Star. We ordered the bone marrow tater tots, lemon pizza, rigatoni, baby carrots and chocolate torte. Everything was beyond excellent and the lemon pizza has ruined any future pizza for us. We will never be the same. I cannot recommend Luminosa more and ask for Jamie!

Highly recommend getting reservations if you want to eat here, my friend and I managed to snag seats at the bar and I was so excited after seeing all the good reviews online. We got the bread service and honestly after eating the bread we both wish we would have gotten the pizzas instead of the noodles. Even though everything is handmade after eating the bread I could only imagine how good the pizza would taste. I ordered the agnolotti while my friend ordered the rigatoni. The rigatoni sauce was kinda spicy but enjoyable while I probably would not order the agnolotti again. It tasted alright just not the flavors I would really enjoy out of a pasta. The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect though and really would suggest it for being a place for a nicer dinner.

Luminosa definitely lived up to its stellar reputation. We made reservations to celebrate our 39th anniversary. They had a card on our table signed by everyone. It was very sweet.

Riley our server could not have been better! The recommendations and what we ended up ordering were spectacular. You cannot go wrong, a must visit!

We went to Luminosa for our anniversary and we couldn’t have made a better choice!

The staff was polite and seated us right on time. Waiting at our table was a yellow rose bud in a tiny vase and a note signed by staff members congratulating us on our anniversary.

We ordered glasses of wine and a lemon pizza to start. I had heard good things about the lemon pizza, but still the words “lemon” and “pizza” didn’t go together any better than the words “carrot” and “cake” (which I refused to try for years because of the contradiction), so I was tentative. It proved to be outstanding. The crust was cook perfectly and the white cheese with a bit of lemon was delicious.

My wife ordered gnocchi. We had gnocchi twice at other great restaurants in Asheville recently, and my wife said this was the best by far. The texture set it apart from the others.

I had the bone-in pork chop. It was seasoned well and grilled to give it a smoky flavor that was just right. After splitting the lemon pizza, I couldn’t eat it all, so I brought the rest home (it was equally delicious the next day). I would definitely order it again.

Our only gripe was the noise level for the first 10 to 15 minutes. A table of 8 next to us was incredibly loud to the point we were about to ask to be re-seated until we saw they were leaving. Afterwards, the atmosphere was great … including when another table of 8 was seated and talked without yelling.

Porter took excellent care of us and couldn’t have been better.

Definitely one of the best meals we’ve had in and around Asheville.

Congratulations Luminosa on your Michelin Green Star! It is so well deserved. All the food we had was phenomenal and our server Hayley was extremely friendly and personable. They even gave us an order of carpaccio on the house, which was outstanding. We will 100% be coming back asap!

Our server Ani was amazing! Great recommendations. Host was also super friendly. The quality of food and service together was superb. 5 stars in every way. Lamb sausage/ goat cheese pizza was a huge standout. Tiramisu also, unbelievable- homemade mascarpone! Just superb.
Would return when in Asheville again and highly recommend.

My cousins and I really enjoyed our meal at Luminosa. The service was excellent all around and the server David was very knowledgeable and welcoming. The menu was a little dense and required some clarification, but its nice to see different items on a menu and know its all farm to table. Our favorites were the rigatoni with a spicy sausage, the Caramelo pasta with hazelnuts, and the bread service. Definitely recommend.

Our experience at Luminosa last night was outstanding on every level! As three long time locals, we have missed what our experiences dining out use to be. So much has changed here in the last 8-10 years and our expectations when dining out have lowered over that time. Tonight reminded us of what the local standard use to be.

First, our server Jesse was simply perfect. He was friendly, fun, knowledgeable and attentive throughout the entire almost 3 hours that we were there. We didn’t have to wait for a thing. And he was quick with spot on perfect recommendations. He made great service seem effortless. What a gem they have in him! Definitely ask to sit in his area if you dine there. You won’t regret it.

Next, the food. Oh, the food. From start to finish, the three of us were blown away at the quality of ingredients, the means of preparation and the presentation. Even the bread service was awesome. We were all so pleased with what we ordered and portion sizes were good. I had the lion’s mane mushroom as an entree and I can honestly say it was the best mushroom dish I’ve had in a very long time. The way it was prepared changed the texture to something next level. It was wonderful to hear that Luminosa supports so many local businesses by sourcing within a 50 mile radius. Down to even the beautiful plates and serve ware! The drinks were fabulous as well. And then dessert… maybe the best olive oil cake and tiramisu we’ve ever had.

Parking was a breeze as valet is free through the Flat Iron hotel when you dine at Luminosa.

We can’t say enough about our experience at Luminosa. What a wonderful reminder of how great it can be to dine out in Asheville. All of us can’t wait to go back and it will be my first suggestion to anyone visiting and wanting to know where to dine.
