We were surprised on our last visit that sourdough bread was an option presented by our server and that you can get it grilled. Was absolutely amazing compared to the usual biscuit or corn muffin. Has this always been an option? Chicken n Dumplins were great as usual and plenty of chicken in them this go around. Girlfriend had the chicken fried chicken, loaded mashed potatoes, and corn. I had the Dumplins, green beans, Mac and cheese and corn. The corn was really watery ànd lacked flavor, but everything else was great. We will be back as always and the staff late evening on 02/23/26 at the Richmond Indiana location were absolutely great, friendly, and fast.

Runny eggs even though I ordered well done. And cold. Sausage extremely tough and dry…overdone .
Omelettes are discontinued, which I depend on as a diabetic. No veggies on the menu.
Biscuits and gravy forced on you with most meals, and pancakes are added as a premium side at extra cost. So all the biscuits get pitched because people don’t want them in the first place. No sausage in gravy and biscuits are tough, not soft and crumbly. Gravy not even as good as from a can. So disappointed that this landmark is going downhill. I have fond memories of the past.

The manager on duty was not a proper leader at all. Went in with my family a party of 15 to get some lunch and the manager gave us a server who has only been there a month. To keep it short orders were messed up,waited light-years for drinks and refills, and to top it off quite a few of us didn’t get any food. I can’t blame the server I have to put the most blame on the manager. If you know your employee has not been on the floor long enough you should never have given that young lady a huge group. She was set up for failure from the start. Then the manager was more worried about if his sideburns were neat instead of accommodating the patrons

I had never before been to a Cracker Barrel since there were never any in the area I lived in. But on my cross country drive from NYC to LA I stopped here and had a great time, such a great time that I visited Cracker Barrel two more time on the rest of my trip. I dream about the chicken n’ dumplings, carrots, and fried apples. They were delicious and comforting when I needed comfort the most, on the road to a new home. The food is heavy so I couldn’t eat here all the time but it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want to! I absolutely recommend making a stop if you’re in the area, you won’t regret it!

Are there at this Richmond Indiana Cracker Barrel several times in the past and would normally give it a rating of 3 1/2 to 4 stars on everything however this past experience three things we ordered they came back and said I’m sorry I was informed by the kitchen we do not have that anymore we have ran out of a lot of things on the menu and while we were there overhearing other customers being told the same thing was very disappointing it was not the waitresses fault but the other person in my party could not eat dinner with me because two separate occasions he had to reorder only to be told well we don’t have that very unprofessional reading times pass usually it’s a lot better service I had the rainbow trout dinner I’m at fisherman and I’ve caught bluegill and crappie that had more meat than those fillets

Not sure where to begin on this one. The waitress may have been busier, and this may have led to her neglect and or oversight throughout the dining experience. At one point I had the hostess retrieve her, as I couldn’t get her attention prior to her going to the kitchen, nor once back there as she first began to talk with coworkers. Seeing her then lean on the counter, looking at her phone, I then got the attention of the hostess to get her for me.

My tea was sour. (Ended up trading it.) The Manager brought out my food and asked if there was anything else… One of my sides was a salad, which not only wasn’t brought out by him, but had been forgotten about (it should’ve come out before my food).

He got the salad, and in trying my food (before I ate the salad), my meatloaf was literally ice cold. The ranch dressing for the salad was as thin as water, and was horrible. (This is when I had worked to flag down the server…) She called the manager to my table. He swapped out my meatloaf. I ate the salad. The potato (sweet potato) was good.

The food was good, like always. There were times we came, and we would be told it would be 15 or 30 minutes to get a table, so we would leave. This time, we had 9 people, and we were afraid we would be told that, but it didn’t take very long to be seated.
UPDATE:. May 11, 2022-It is still the same, but they do need people to help, like most places. They did change the menu. Not as many salads and sandwiches. I decided to order something different and ordered the Broccoli Cheddar Chicken lunch special, along with Mashed Potatoes, Biscuit, and Coke Zero. It was delicious.
UPDATE:. August 18, 2022-It is still the same, serving the same great food. It was a little slow, but not as bad as the last time. I was going to order the Turkey and Dressing meal, but I was afraid it would be too much to eat, so I ordered the Bacon and Egg Hash brown Casserole again. Just as good as previously.
UPDATE:. January 19, 2023-This time, I did order the Turkey and Dressing meal, along with Mashed Potatoes, Biscuit, and Coke Zero. It was delicious, and I was able to eat it all. The bad thing is having to wait 5-10 minutes for a table while they wipe the tables. They need more help!
UPDATE: June 1, 2023-I ordered the Homestyle Grilled Chicken Salad, which I haven’t had in a while, and I had ordered it quite frequently. Still delicious!
UPDATE: September 17, 2023-I went back on the 14th, and it had been a while since I ordered a sandwich from here. I ordered the Barrel Cheeseburger, Steak Fries, and Coke Zero. It was big, and I am surprised I ate it all. They don’t have much selection of sandwiches on the adult menu, compared to the kids’ menu. It was still good.
UPDATE: December 19, 2023-I came back again, and this time, I ordered the Country Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, and Fried Apples, and Coke Zero. I like Country Fried Steak, and this was delicious. I wanted to try the Country Fried Turkey, but it was too big of a meal. Maybe next year.

Starting out poorly.Been here 15 minutes nothing to drink and only 3 servers on staff in a Saturday morning. Should of went to Iron skillet next door to the hotel we stayed at. Instead we went with a standby favorite and sadly we were let down. Well hopefully if we ever get our order taken the food will be decent. Not to mention two table have sat after us and had their orders taken. Even after we asked to place ours. On the plus side our server was very nice and made sure our order did get put in before the orders that were taken ahead of ours. Well we were the third table seated,An hour in now and still staring at the table. Oh but we did get refills!! Finally food. Was cooked as ordered, very good.

We sure love a trip to Cracker Barrel. It’s always a good experience at our store in Richmond, Indiana. It was Sunday morning so there was a short wait time. This gave us time to browse the store & find some early Christmas presents. Always love to see their Christmas decorations & check out the new themes each year. And always have to buy a new ornament or two. The service was excellent. Friendly staff always a good experience. Food was awesome. We always order different meals so we can sample each plate. It’s almost like stepping into the past. It’s a whole experience & we are always eager to return.
