We went to The VIG during happy hour on a weekday. It was a bit rowdy and noisy for a weekday, but that’s understandable given the pre-rush hour crowd. We sat at the bar and the service was attentive and friendly.

We tried the lobster deviled eggs, southern fried chicken with fries, and an espresso martini. The fried chicken and fries were absolutely on fire—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The lobster deviled eggs, while tasty, were a bit of an understatement compared to the rest of the meal. The espresso martini was excellent, smooth and well-balanced.

Overall, it was a fun spot with great food and drinks, though the noise level might not be for everyone. I’d definitely come back, especially for the fried chicken and cocktails.

The Vig is a fantastic spot in Old Town—honestly great for just about any occasion. The happy hour deals are legit, with solid $10 cocktails and really good bites.

The wait staff was fantastic and the overall vibe was upbeat and welcoming. Everything just clicked.

Huge shoutout to the Moroccan Turkey Burger—absolute standout. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was incredibly flavorful and juicy, and the saffron gave it a unique kick that made it memorable.

Already looking forward to the next visit. Highly recommend.

I’m not usually one to splurge at restaurants. I’m also not usually one to order steak. However, this steak sandwich provided my tastebuds with a truly unforgettable experience. Yes it was $25. No it didn’t come with sides. It made me irl.

This place is absolutely fantastic. Melanie, Alexis, Sydney and Skylar took amazing care of our group. We had a few reservation logistic issues on our side but they were so patient and hospitable. Brunch was delicious- we ordered many dishes and everyone loved their food. If you’re around Chicago this is a must stop.

Cool spot in Old Town for some decent food. The salad was refreshing and was decently portioned – I really LOVED the croutons specifically from this salad and was surprised by how well it went with the cranberries. Potatoes were also yummy and went well the salad I tried. Sat outside for the views and it was genuinely a nice experience.

Was looking for a quick bite after attending a late night event in the area. Me and my man were extremely pleased that we came across this place. From the appies to the dessert, everything was delicious and plated well. And, the portion sizes were big enough that we could’ve split 1 meal and it would have been enough for the both of us. We sat at the bar and the bartender gave us A1 service which is a lost art these days. We will definitely make our way back here soon. Thanks for helping to make our night out a great one

This is a lively spot where friends and family can enjoy a fun dinner together. The upbeat music and friendly servers definitely add to the charm. That said, the food and drinks taste more like what you’d find at a typical chain family restaurant. The dishes feel generic, likely processed or pre-prepared, and the cocktails are overly sweet without much finesse. If you’re looking for a light, easy night out with good vibes, it could still be a decent choice. Personally, I wouldn’t return for the food.

The Vig nails the Chicago vibe with its stylish yet relaxed atmosphere and a menu packed with crave-worthy comfort food and creative cocktails.

Whether you’re starting with their killer appetizers or diving into hearty mains, every bite feels thoughtfully crafted and satisfying.

The bartenders are skilled, the music sets a great tone, and the whole place buzzes with energy. Perfect for a fun night out in the city!

Our server made our night 10/10
